The WW site says that mine has been "discharged" and "delivered from" Port Hueneme. So, I'm guessing that mine is at the VDC? I'm not sure... I still haven't gotten a call from my MA.

The waiting is over. I just picked up the new ride.

One day short of 5 weeks from order placement to delivery. Quite impressive.

Congrats Bunsen! Post pics for all of us still waiting for ours to drool over

Robin81 ... mine shows the same thing according to WW "Discharged 03/11" I contacted my MA and she said that is still didn't even show as docked on her end. I would assume it's in the VDC but just hasn't quite updated on whatever system they use.

Bunsen: thanks for the photo. That's one nice looking Mini! I love the wheels that come with the sidewalk package. Wish they could be configured on the R56 Coupes.

It's official! Owner's lounge says mine is at the VDC! Just hoping for a quick turnaround and no delays.

Well, I heard from my MA that my Mini is in transit from the VDC. Unfortunate news is that they don't think it will be ready for me to pick up next week (the timeframe I was initially given for pickup) but instead will have to wait an additional.

Kind of a bummer. Especially since I was all ready to go pick it up! Oh well ... it's only an additional week ...

Well, mine was released from the VDC last week, and it is STILL not here. I tried to call the dealership 10 minutes ago, and I was told they would get back to me, since there were "wall to wall people" there ATM.

WHERE THE **** is my car....!!!!

That's too bad Desert_Sand ... how far away is your dealer from the VDC? Hopefully your dealer did actually call you back right away.

I must say I'm a bit on the disappointed side with the after-sales customer service. The day I ordered the car I was told 4-6 weeks since they already had a slot that was going into production in a couple days. I told them I would ask for a couple days off work to pick it up 7 weeks out so that it would give them an extra week if anything went wrong.

I kept checking back with my MA to make sure everything was still on track. Even as late as Tuesday of this week I was told we're still on schedule for pickup on the week of the 17th.

Then I get an e-mail yesterday saying that the car should be arriving soon, but that a more realistic time frame would be the week of the 24th.

Honestly I'm not sure why it would take them an extra week to do what they told me would take 2 days after they receive the car (stripes and aero) I've already asked for the time off next week ... and the real frustrating thing is that I really need the car for transportation to work the next week.

Hopefully they're being a little too conservative with the time frame and I'll still get a call later next week that it's all ready. Can't help but feel that they're kind of taking their time with things though.

SHAMUS IS AT THE DEALER!!!!...

But, unless they can get the dealer installed extras done tomorrow (closed today) which is suppose to be six hours of work, I will not be able to pick it up until next weekend.

BTW, I didn't find out from the dealer, I found out from the OL......

I am very disappointed with the after the sale customer service. Of course, I was not impressed with my MA/SM in the first place. I think he is a buffoon. Probably why he is a car salesman.

Belated Congrats Desert Sand!

Be sure to squeeze the dealer for as much free stuff as possible. They want a good customer survey from you and should try to make up for the poor post sale service..

If they want a good customer survey, they are in the hurt locker.

1) No updates on the status of my order unless I called them.
2) Too busy to take a call from a current customer
3) Not calling a customer when ordered vehicle arrives at dealership and give an estimated release date to the customer.

That's some poor service. Sorry to hear your woes. I hope that the process goes smoothly from here on out.

Wow DS, that's too bad that they didn't call you and let you know it arrived. My dealer didn't given me any updates at all through the build/shipping process either unless I contacted them. Was a little disappointing when I hear others who would get contacted from their dealer at each stage as well as get pictures of the car being unloaded at the dealer.

Other then that, my experience has been pretty good. MA is really friendly and has always taken my calls. Only thing that is left to be seen is if they drag their feet installing the extras and force me to wait to pick up my car an extra week.

Dark Silver and Black ... that's going to be one slick looking Mini! Be sure to post pictures when you finally go in for pickup!

I could understand not hearing from the during the build process, some people don't care...but

"Hey, just calling to let you know, your car was put on the transport for the ride across the pond".

"Just a quick update, your car has made it to the states and it is at the VDC".

"Another update, they released it from the VDC to the transport company, it should be here NLT Saturday of next week"

Oh, did I mention that during of my calls, the MA/SM screwed up my last name SO bad, I had to correct him. AFTER I identified myself using my first and last name!!

That is gonna be the hang up, I can see it now. Did I mention my SM is a buffoon!?!?!

While I haven't used that term in a while...I are a squid, so I use obscure nautical terms every now and again...

Ignigena, I hope you're able to pick your car up this week!
DesertSand, I'm sorry your experience hasn't been great... but I'm sure the car will be worth it!

I just talked to my MA, and I'm picking mine up on Thursday! Yay! I wanted to pick it up on the weekend, so I could look at it during the daylight, but he's off this weekend, so Thursday night it is. Assuming everything goes smoothly... the car isn't actually at the dealership yet. If it's not ready by Thursday night, will I have to wait til my MA is back in town? Or can I pick it up from someone else? I didn't ask that question... heh.

My only worry at this point is that this is still the closest dealer to get my service work done.

Not sure. My MA just called me 10 minutes ago to let me know that my car was at the dealership (duh!!) and would be ready for pick up tomorrow. I told him that I would have to find out if I could get off work a little early and they could have someone come to the house and get me (50 miles). He told me it could be any day that I wanted. I don't think it has to be your MA, since mine is technically a BMW salesman from the other lot. I dealt primarily with the MINI sales manager (SM) for everything. He is the idiot that is going to get the dealership tagged with my satisfaction survey.

Yay Robin81! Congratulations!

Still keeping my fingers crossed for Friday ... although my MA has yet to respond to my e-mail about the possibility of getting things done promptly so I don't have to wait an additional week

Ok, my BMW (vice MINI) MA called me yesterday and told me my Bulldog would be ready today. Now all I have to do is get my supervisor let me off a couple hours early and I will be able to get Shamus away from the mean people, and get him home to his garage.

Gotta program the garage door opener to let him in....!!

Bring some pictures to show your supervisor. Only a real Scrooge would deny you time off to pick up a new Mini.
