Yooooo-hoooooooo!!!

I called my MA this morning to give her a heads up that we were coming in to place an order for a new MCS for my son. (Yep, that's a story for later when I'm not so excited I can barely type! ) Turns our my MINI came in today after all and it's being detailed as I type this! I'm picking Ramona up in two hours!

How poetic is that -- picking mine up and ordering one for my MINIac son on the same day! I LOVE IT!!

Life is good.

Congratulations MiniRee!

I'm impatiently waiting for mine. OL still says it's enroute, but my MA said that it arrived in Charleston on Wednesday and is at the VDC and since they don't work on the weekend, it won't be on it's way to the dealer until sometime next week.

Have a blast with your MINI this weekend and watching your son agonize over waiting for his to be built, shipped, and delivered.

Just got an email from my MA. Mine will be at the dealership on Tuesday or Wednesday! Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it there to pick it up until Friday afternoon. But in any case, I'm less than a week away!

Meet Ferris!!

Well it finally happened, I picked up Ferris about an hour ago. I'd like you all to meet him. I'll post pictures in the Coupe talk forum later, I need to get out and get to know him better for now. I had to share the news with Ferris' sibs first though.

Oh, our beautiful babies! I think I actually see the resemblance between Ferris and Ramona! I'll post pics tomorrow. Right now, I'm so tired I spent five full minutes trying to remember how to spell "resembl, reseblm, uh, my car looks like yours..."

Most sincere congratulations.

Can we see pics of the inside? I always like to see what people choose for their dash color, upholstery, etc. and how the combination looks.

Was out driving all day and just got back. I'll take and post some interior pics tomorrow.

MiniRee, glad to hear you got Ramona, get some sleep and enjoy a nice Sunday drive.

ok, taken two big trips this weekend so far that has added 450 miles to my car. Had to fill up once and am averaging at 37.5mpg! Mostly keeping her between 35-70.

Best car I have ever driven - by far.

Congrats to anyone picking up their Mini this weekend - ferris is a great looking car!

Any other production week 4 issues with climate control display?

I just wanted to check and see if anyone else has experienced any issues with their climate control displays. Bringing Ramona home yesterday I noticed the display flashing in 1-second intervals. Subsequently, it deteriorated to the point where it kind of pixellated and dissolved into an unreadable mess. I called my dealer and they asked me to bring it back in immediately, but I couldn't make the 25-mile trip before they closed. I will take it in tomorrow morning for them to see.

The climate control itself works just fine. Cool air, fan, defrost, whatever. I just can't see the display to know what is selected. I feel sure it is a simple programming issue and they will get it straightened out pronto.

Can I still order the JCW aero kit to be installed at the VDC? I am on the AIDA and is still out at sea. Its suppose to dock on the 27th. What are the advantages of having the aero kit installed at the VDC as oppose to the dealer?

Yes - call your MA immediately. I decided to install the JCW kit after 4 days at sea, and requested it to be done at the VDC

How much less was it to install at the VDC than at the dealership...did you have an estimate? I'll have the Aero kit, Strut brace, and Door Sills installed. Anyone hear about a new Aero kit coming out with the new JCW logo?

You ask, I deliver.

MiniRee, sorry to hear about the AC issue. I haven't had any similar problems, in fact I can't really say that I've had any (knocks vigorously on nearby wooden object). Ramona's probably just still so excited to have a new owner that she got a little too carried away.

On a bad note I had my first near incident today. Some idiot decided to pull a U-turn into my lane RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!! I learned something though Ferris can really stop!

OL finally updated and Roxanne's status is "At Distribution Center"!! And the Estimated Delivery Date is 2/25/2008, TOMORROW!! Even if it isn't tomorrow, it's going to be only a matter of days!

I can't wait!

MiniRee, what kind of goodies did Hendrick's give you when you picked up Ramona?

Well the web site estimated that my car would arrive at the dealer last Thursday 2/22/08 and now it even confirms that the car has been delivered to the dealership. Now if I can just get the dealership to let me know when I can inconvenience them to give them more money and pick up my car!
