I'm sure you do while you're driving around in your fancy schmancy new MINI... lol. j/k. I'm sure the wait will be worth it. Until then, we can live through you guys who have gotten your cars. Just don't make us too jealous!

 

I feel like the loaner is getting me used to the Mini and I'll be a pro at setting up the personal settings and be super comfortable in it when i finally take delivery. Also, driving the bare bones S, makes me appreciate all those fancy options like bluetooth/usb, multifunction with Cruise!!!, cold weather, conv. pkg (no more digging in my purse for keys!), auto ac, etc that i opted for.

Mine has a EDA at dealer of today... patiently waiting on the call from my MA...

 

Still no call from my MA. VDC told him to call back "later this week". Hoping to get a call today or tomorrow.

 

Yeah, i've learned that the VDC is the most uncooperative place ever. Their answer is always "later this week", "it'll be there by Thursday", "call later". It's some magical place that no one seems to be able to get any info from! I got my EDA from Owners lounge, so we'll see what happens....

 

Estimated delivery on my OL page still says 2/27, so I'm thinking it's not too accurate. Also, they told my MA last Wednesday that it would be on a carrier no later than Friday (2/29). It was still at the VDC as of Monday (3/3).

 

They've been telling my MA the same thing, I *hope* that it is actually getting there today based on that for the past 2 weeks it's said EDA of 2/25 and it just changed yesterday to 3/6. I'm keeping my fingers crossed....

 

Just checked again and mine still shows 2/27.

 

Has your dealer offered you any perks or anything because of the delay? I would ask for something, especially if its been an inconvenience for you (limiting miles on trade-in, etc)

 

No, they haven't offered anything yet. It's really not their fault, but it would be nice if they threw in something for the delay.

I'm driving my paid-off truck right now. I don't think it's going to decrease the value when I sell it too much as it has fairly low miles for being 5+ years old, so there's no worry of putting extra miles on it. The only thing that's killing me is the gas prices. My truck doesn't get great mileage (~17-20MPG), which was a strong factor in deciding on the MINI. Plus, I keep thinking about how much fun I could be having in my new MINI!

 

Yeah, i think it would be nice if they threw in floormats or something as a nice gesture that they want to take care you of as their customer, even when it's out of their control.

Just got a call from MA that car is at the dealer! She's emailing me a pic bc I don't believe its finally here!

 

I'm already getting free floormats. A t-shirt or something might be nice though.

Hey brother 08DSMCS! What's the latest ETA? I think Mini should give your car to you for free! It's Unconstitutional! It violates the Eighth Amendment for cruel and unusual punishment!

 

I agree! I should get my car for free! I'll make sure to mention that to my MA before I hand over the check. Oh, and I'll also ask him for my $500 deposit back. I'm sure he won't mind.

Actually, my MA emailed me today to tell me that my car had been "released to the carrier", once again, with an estimated delivery date of 3/12. I was too busy at work to post an update. Hopefully they won't find another scratch cause apparently scratches take over a week to fix! They must be really backed up at the VDC or they fibbed a little when they told my MA about the "scratch".

I won't be able to go pick it up until 3/14 (exactly 2 months from my order date), but the end is finally in sight!

I've been watching this thread since I accepted delivery on Ramona, waiting to see how long it everyone to get their cars. 08DSMCS, I am coming to believe that I will accept delivery of my SECOND car before you get your FIRST one. We placed the order for Roland the same day I picked up Ramona (see sig below for dates). He's due in Charleston on 3-22. How in the world are you not completely psychotic by now? I'm really sorry you've had this long wait.

It is, however, well worth it. You won't believe what you've got coming...

 

I picked it up friday night, but i'm not really happy with it right now. :( Already a very annoying rattle in the backseat/boot area and they messed up my roof graphic install. they've promised to redo it, but that's another drive to atlanta for me. and the sent me the wrong mirror caps from what i ordered. i'm not too pleased right now, although they've promised to fix the graphic, i haven't heard a plan of action yet. i'm just disappointed by these things, which i know are little, but i just wanted the car to be perfect since i waited so long :(

 

oryx, I'm sorry to hear about the rattle and the graphics. I know what you mean about the hassle of having to take it back. Atlanta is what 2+ hours one-way? My dealer allowed me to bring it in this weekend on Saturday to install the bonnet strips they forgot to initally add. Hopefully your dealer will work something like that for you.
Sometimes when I hit a rough section of road I too hear a rattle or thump sound. It sounds like the rear hatch is not closed tightly. I'm not sure where it is coming from enough to describe it to the dealer. I may have to get my daughter to drive it while I sit in the back.
Overall though, I am VERY happy with the car.

 

Well, I sure hope that's not the case. Although it would be great for you to get your 2nd car so quickly, I don't think I could take it! It's bad enough to watch all these week 5 and 6'ers in California that are getting their cars before me.

I'm supposed to be picking up my car this Friday (3/14). I'll be a little more confident once I hear that it's at the dealer safely, because right now, I'm at the same step ("released to the carrier") that I was last time. I thought I was on my way to the dealer last time, but found out that I was back at the VDC for "scratch" repair.

Nope. According to the OL, mine should have gotten to the dealer today. Going to pick it up on Friday!
