Greetings,
My Name is Amy and I admit that I bought my MCS because of, "The Italian Job." When I first saw that movie all I wanted to know was, "what are those cars and can I get one?" That movie was 2003. I saw the movie in 2004. I swore when my previous car died (I believe in till death do us part when it comes to my car) I would get a MINI. I might have hastened my previous car's death by then constantly visiting the MINI website and building my own MINI. My original intent was to buy a brand new MINI. Last June, the AC died on my previous car and I took it as a sign. A legitimate sign as the car was over 10 years old and ready to concede my wish for a MINI (may she rest in peace). So, I thought the best first move would be to test drive a MINI before just buying one out of hand. Fate is a funny thing. My home town does not have a MINI dealership, thus leaving me to test drive a used MINI. There were all of 4 listings. The first listing is the one I chose to test. She had all the options I had put on all my build-my-owns and then some. It was love at first sight. She was meant for me. I bought her that day. My MCS is a 2004. She is the same Indi Blue color as Mark Wahlberg's in, "The Italian Job." Yes, I have the white accents for roof and mirror caps, but no bonnet stripes for me. Otherwise, fully loaded, nice leather, etc. My dream car. After I bought my MCS, I bought, "The Italian Job" DVD. I now watch that movie and its extras as driving lessons.

welcome - I agree cool little cars - I am very lucky I live within two hours of 5 Mini Dealers - I went with EB Mini - about 30 miles due east of SF, CA. I also tried looking at used Mini's - got the New Mini the way I wanted it for 20,450.... Enjoy you new Love
Thanks
Thanks for the welcomes. I have had her for over a year and named her the moment I got behind the wheel...her name is Coop. One might think that is without imagination. However, my all time favorite personality was Agent Cooper from Twin Peaks (Coop for short). It fit, never mind the gender issue...my car is a she...And Coop she is with now 30,000 miles. The only pictures I have are from the dealer's lot (official dealer about 150 miles away). I will include a couple. Do any of you find yourselves being Six Flags Over MINI? I give lots of rides on curvy roads. Love the MINI! I am waiting for help on my antenna issue I posted on an antenna help thread.
Welcome, good movie and you found a fun MINI to adopt. Post pictures and let us know if you go on any fantastic drives. Try coming out to MITM 3 next August and see a lot of other MINIs and meet the drivers. Folks come from all over. Lots of things to do and vendors to see!
And thanks for the pictures posted 2 minutes before my reply.

Congrats Amy!!! My first MINI was an IB/W Cooper just like in TIJ but also w/o stripes. Since I had it early in '03 it sure was fun that summer to drive through the movie theater parking lot after TIJ was showing. Lots of awe-struck kids pointing and yelling "look, Dad, it's a MINI!!", but I promise I did refrain from driving on the sidewalks and such.
During the work week, I spend no personal time on the Internet, so my readings and postings are delayed to weekends. So, with much delay I want to say thanks so much to you all for all your great messages. What a pleasant place to visit. I am sincerely delighted to be in the midst of MINI lovers.
