Fellow Motorer's any info on Delivery tracking would be greatly appreciated
Greetings Motorer's,
I ordered my Cooper S (Sparkling Silver - Lounge Red int - 6speed manual) on July 16th. Got an update that production was completed July 25th and arrived at the Southhampten Docks July 27th. Ever since then it shows En Route. I have tried the WW ship site to track auto cargo via VIN and nothing shows up. 1-866- ASK- MINI is absolutely useless and the dealer is not dumb, or dumber, but dumberer. Tells me he has no way of monitoring after the docks and no ship info. Im looking for advice from anyone that knows as im sure most of us have been through the same at some point. Thanks.

Hi ZaMiniCooperS!
Did your MA (aka salesman) tell you a Production Week? If he did, check for a "support" thread here to see if other folks in your PW might be able to give you some specific insight into where your MINI might be.
It sounds like you might've been in PW 30. If it was, the support thread is here. A quick glance thru it showed that some of the East-Coast bound MINIs were shipped via K-Line instead of WW. K-Line does not provide tracking, but someone in that thread contacted their MA who was apparently able to confirm their MINI was on a K-Line ship. In the PW 30 support thread, some of them are expecting their MINIs to reach their VDCs in the next couple of days.
Good Luck!

Also, there's no quarentee that your Mini will be on a WW ship. Your MA can get a report that gives the name of the ship it will ship on. If you're on the west coast, I can almost guarentee it won't be WW.
Tracking info Mini
Well my MA says he has no idea and no way of telling which ship its on. Ofourse i can't believe that. There has to be some way for Mini to know where their cars are. So i guess im **** out of luck. I guess he just doesn't want to put in the effort to look. I love the car and have waited so long so ill go ahead and buy from him otherwise i wouldn't deal with someone like that. Im spending $35K and he does not want to offer customer service.

So heres the update. Thanks to the info provided be Hharper350!!! I called my MA's mgr and told her that he wasn't providing info which in confirmed with other dealers that he should have. Few mins after hanging up the phone, he called me and i told him what i had heard. After denying for a while and saying that other dealers had told me wrong, I told him , so the two other sales guys i spoke to are lying??? then he coughed it up and told me that my car arrived at the VDC today and that i could expect to have it not later than the end of the month. Oh before all of this he told me that dealers don't have that kind of detailed info, then all of a sudden after two mins of conversation he magically got the info. Well either that or he's a lying Mo Fo. Either way thanks to the info i received here from all of you guys, i was able to dig a bit more.
I don't get it either. The only thing i can guess is that he is lazy or does not want to commit to a delivery date, however i wasn't asking for a confirmed date just shipping info so i could look it up myself. I just wanted to know an approx date so i could lock in an interest rate. I hate the fact that i have to deal with him. Giving someone like that a sale just kills me, but you all know having ordered a custom Mini and then waiting for it, all you can think of us getting your hands on the car and driving off.
Sorry to hear your dealer hasn't been more helpful.
I suppose he might never had a customer try to find out this info from them. But I think that they would be eager to help - someone that is excited about their car can give a dealership great word-of-mouth, but if they treat someone badly, they get bad word-of-mouth. That's just simple salesmanship. And while the MA might not get any kickback on service visits, the dealership loses a long term revenue stream if you end up choosing a different dealer to service your MINI. I'd think at least the manager would've jumped at the chance to help.

well that stinks they way your MA is doing. sounds like it's time to give him a bad rating when the MINI surveys comes in. my MA said they have to keep a certain percent rating or they get let go. at least at my dealership that's they way it is.
