I have just found out I am scheduled for week 30 production. I wanted to start the thread.

 

Please someone has to be scheduled for week 30. I think I am all alone out here.

 

How do you know when your production wk is? Went into production 7-11-07, born 7-17-07, waiting transport. So am I 29 or 30 wk?

 

If it is completed this week, you are in week 29. The weeks are based on when the vehicle is completed.

 

We ordered our Mini Cooper from Baron Mini in Kansas City yesterday. They told us that we would be in Week 30. However, we haven't seen the car move from "On Order" to "Scheduled for Production". The Dealer can see it, but we can't (something about a lag on the MINIUSA website)...

Anyway, we ordered a Lightning Blue MINI Cooper with Black top. We added the Premium, Audio, and Cold Weather packages. We also added white turn signals, arm rest, Black Carbon leather, Chrome Exterior package, front/rear fog lamps, rain sensor and auto headlights, and 15" Rotator spoke wheels.

This car is for my wife, but I'll be doing some driving. Based on my experience so far, I'm very interested in getting a MCS for myself. Of course, it's going to have to wait a couple of years.

 

Glad to finally have some one else scheduled for week 30. We were thinking about ordering a Lightning Blue MCS but decided on Chili Red. I ordered from Tom Bush Mini in Jacksonville, FL. Hope it will be in my hands before Labor Day.

 

I hadn't thought having the car delivered by Labor Day. It would be great to break the car in over a three day holiday.

I think the Chili Red is a great color. However, my wife's previous car was red and she wanted something different.

We just checked and our car is still "on-order" but the dealer swears its scheduled for production. Is checking the Owner's Lounge hourly considered much of an addiction?

 

I was the just informed by 866-Ask-Mini that my MCS order is in production and scheduled to be completed July 22. I'm in week 30 then, right?

Just got the news from 866-Ask-Mini, production started today 7-18-07. My MCS is scheduled for completion 7-24-07.

Thanks! It's going to California... Mini of San Francisco. I'm pretty impressed by how quick it got into production. I ordered on July 13... and it's schedule to be complete on July 22... that's pretty damn fast!

 

Beatloafer looks like you are going to have to take the long boat ride. I think it is around 21 days.

I am guessing we could be motoring by Labor Day. What port will yours be arriving. Mine will come into Charleston. Depending on if I am able to catch the ship on the 27th or 28th, I could be state side you August 6th or 9th.

How do you know what ships are leaving the port? My understanding is that they will tell us what ship we're on, but I wasn't aware we could see what ships we MIGHT be on.

Also, are the ships going to the west coast different from the east coast?

You can go to the three shipping lines Mini uses and see a list of ships that are scheduled to leave "Southampton to what ever port your Mini is going too. The west coast ships are different ships than the ships going to the East coast. I think Wallenius Whllelmsen is the shipping company going to the West Coast. Here are the three lines. Wallenius Welhelmsen, K-line, and NYK. You can go to their wed sites and get a monthly schedule of ships leaving Southampton.

 

Well I seem to moving right along. Got the VIN number this mourning.

These are the ships that I found heading out to the west coast from South Hampton after my mini is completed on July 22. How long does it take from completion to getting on one of these ship? Which of these can I expect to be on?

 

It depends on if the ship has been completely booked or not. I have seen cars arrive on Thursday and be placed on a ship on Friday. I would think you had a good chance on the 30th. I would hate to see if wait for over a week at the dock. I know you want to be driving by Labor Day.

 

When porduction slots are assigned to dealers, they are also booekd for a ship slot. The glitch is you won't know the booking date until your vin # is available on the WW pages.
When the Tarifa was loaded last Monday I watched the estimated cargo increase by 60 plus cars. These were actually showing they were received at the loading terminal as late as one hour before ship departure.
Once your Mini is completed it goes by train from Oxford to Southhampton, which is suppose to take from 1 - 3 days. But it appears the trains depart at all hours as my Mini showed arrival at the port at 03:10 in the morning.
If you were lucky enough you could make the ship for the 7/23 departure. If not you should be no later that the ship on 7/30.
But remember tracking Mini's is just a lot of guessing as we never have all of the details that effect changes. Good Luck on a fast ship date.

 

all right ... after having been told week 31 by MA on purchase date (7/13), checked the lounge on 7/16 and seen I had a VIN and it was on production, checked on 7/20 and found it was at paint shop and ready early next week, I can finally guess my puppy is week #30 ...

I see I join a select group of smart people ! Lets patiently wait for our pup ... Anyone know if the ships go directly to Houston (where I live hehe) ?

Only regret so far is not having ordered the LSD. This went too fast ...
