It *does* sound cool!! I tried the Lloyd's registration thing a couple weeks back. I didn't get approved. It seems they don't think tracking my baby is an important/official venture! But...if anyone else can fake their way through the registration - go for it!

I have seen a couple of members receive the access code for the two week trail, but I never did. It sems it can take them a while to respond as well, so by the time you have access you could be at the VDC.

what link on AISlive

What link would I use on AISLive to see the Boheme's position now? It doesn't appear on http://aisfree.aislive.com/Influx.as...ama%20Overview and for some reason I can't find a button to click to go to anything in the Pacific.

Boheme will not be back within range of AIS till 24 to 36 hours before arrivial at Port Hueneme on 9/9. Also the AISfree site has been having some software issues in the last week.

Here are the aisfree links for west coast mexico and los angeles area. It's pretty easy to get to san diego and north from them. (i dumped out some of the html to find them. That site is seriously user hostile!) However, I haven't found the Boheme on them. Also, has our captain not been dutifully reporting the weather so we can track the ship? I can't find it with sailwx or oceanweather. Surely he didn't head off to Hawaii with our mini's for a little vacation, did he???

Yes, except for the category one hurricane (with 80 to 100 MPH winds) that's hitting Baja CA at the moment!

Still off of the maps, and the Captain has not used the AIS system since entering the Panama area, so no signs of here on sailwxinfo either. Should show up Saturday on AISfree.

Yes, and our captain apparently isn't reporting weather info. Maybe he's in such a hurry to get here he doesn't want to waste the time?? We can only hope. Or maybe the ship and all our mini's have been abducted by aliens who've noticed how much fun humans have driving them.
I finally broke down, went to the dealer yesterday and ordered a little model mini. Yep, I'm tired of waiting to get a mini! Tig, if you're going to be at Brecht Saturday, maybe I'll run into you. Are you going to the parts dept to get more stuff?

I'm thinking of phoning the Boheme to ask them where they are. Does anyone have their number?
The last sighting was about 72 hours ago? So at 18 Knots per hour that should put them at the southern border of Mexico or almost within the "West Coast Mexico" AISFree map. Right?

not to scare anyone but I shipped a car from Hawaii to california once and they made me sign a waiver that if there were an act of God on the seas, they had the legal right to dump my vehicle in the ocean if it meant saving the ship. I signed and crossed my fingers.

I seem to recall one of my boys' favorite games as babies was "peek-a-boo" ! (right after see how many times mom will pick it up if I drop it ) So I think Mr. Boheme is just letting them have a little fun with us before they are under our control. I can't wait to see what the teenage years will be like

I'm sure everything is going along smoothly, but if we were to entertain tragically pessimistic thoughts about this nightmare scenario:

The dealer hasn't really delivered a car until you sign for it.

If your MINI were to become part of a new reef in the Pacific (glug, glug, glug...), the dealer would still owe you a car. I figure it'd be a choice of 1) refund your deposit, 2) allow you to choose a different MINI from their current or upcoming inventory, or 3) re-order (another 6-8 weeks!).

I'd take door number 2. I really don't want any other car, and I'm not gonna wait another 6 weeks.

Funny you should mention it. I'm going to be at Brecht on Saturday, at about 10AM. I'm helping prepare registration packages for the Brecht Mountain Rally that's held in October. I'll be at the Sales site.

Boheme is not in any weather trouble at all, if you check the average travel time from the Panama Canal to Port Hueneme you will see it is an 8 - 9 day trek. She should be showing up on the maps sometime Saturday. Hang in there folks, she is steaming northward.

Cool! I'd love to see your mini! Maybe if you're not too busy we could even chat a bit.
I'm going to pickup my new little laser blue/white mini saturday. I'm tired of waiting! Then all I have to do is figure out how to make the model big enough to drive!
Sigh. Some day our ship will come in....

It's supposed to get to Port Hueneme on the 9th. One day ahead of the original schedule.

ask mini told me if it hits Port Hueneme 9-9 allow 3 days for VDC (9-12) 4 days transit (9-16) Then a week at the dealer (9-23). Too bad colorado minis dont come through new york then on a train or somethin. The trip through the canal really hurts on time. Can you believe some other Week 33ers already are driving their new friends?

If I remember correctly the arrivial date was always the 9th, I think the departure date from Port Hueneme of the 10th was confused along the way.

My MA just gave me a very large window - basically any time from Sept 20 thru end of the month.

His info reads Boheme making port between the 9th & 12th, plus a week at VDC.
