Look at all those people watching our MINIs!

I guess we're watching them, too.

Hey, wait a minute... doesn't that look a little like holls in the blue shirt there? Talk about obsessed!

That movie is so fun! Thanks, ncarolyn.

I think it'd be fun to have either rag-time piano or the MINI Owners' Lounge Tracking Site theme for a soundtrack. I might look into this later tonight.

Just watched the video again and since it's spead up the 2 ships look like they're racing, with that NYK ship coming too fast and does a "drift" into the lock. funny!

Hey gl, if you add music, please post the link! And are the pilots that control the ships going thru the canal the world's worst drivers or what?! The ships would never make it into the locks without the tugs shoving them into position. I've always adored the little, mighty tugs. Kinda like a mini, huh? Cute, short and lots of power.

Congratulations to all of you for making a safe passage. Now that Bohem is in the Pacific with a bit calmer seas, hope she stays at top speed and arrives on schedule.

OK all you Boheme'ite trackers....I need you to answer a serious question....

Can any of you track the Boheme with damn-near real time coordinates? I ask because the owner-in-waiting from my MINI club has a friend with a small private plane. He's talking about renting time on the plan to fly out and video tape the Boheme sailing by San Diego. Yes, we'd share it with you guys. The date/time/location of the Boheme passing SD is going to have to be spot on though.

Anyone?

Sounds like a cool thought, but with any of the tracking software available on the internet, it could be an expensive film clip. Internet tracking is lagged from 1 - 3 hours, the ship does not maintain a given speed. ON WW ships at se that speed can vary from 1-5 knots usually. Now flying over the Pacific in a small aircraft looking for Boheme, if you do not have exact coordinates (real time updates) at the time you are flying, you have little chance of happening upon her.

Spotting the Boheme

A great idea! I know your Boheme buddies would appreciate the effort.
My understanding is that the AIS data is the most timely a civilian can get. You might try contacting someone in San Diego who is receiving and plotting AIS. One way to do that would be through the Yahoo Shipplotters group. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/shipplotter/.
Regards,
MM

That would be cool . If AISLive is the most current - I seem to recall you can get a 7 day trial for the real live version (Lloyd's Register - Fairplay?). I don't know if they allow it if you are not a company - they ask questions about your reason for the trial...
