I have a few questions regarding pressure gauges:

1. What are your brand recommendations for a tire pressure gauge?

2. Are digital gauges less/more/as accurate as a quality analog gauge?

3. Are the mini round analog gauges (like the mini Accu-Gage) as accurate as the full size version?

Also, any recommendations on where the buy the recommended gauges would also be of help.

Thanks,
JS

I've been wondering about the same things...

I did hear that with a digital gauge you can tell if it is not reading correctly easier then an anolog.

One of these days I'll have my own compressor so I can fill my tires at home (I hate fighting with those air hoses) and blow dry after washing my car.

Good luck in your search...I'm curious too!

Without a doubt: The Michelin Vigil gauge. Accurate, reliable, and small. I swear by it.

Can be purchased here: Rider Warehouse

I forgot to address the digital issue...

I'm sure there are some really nice digital gauges out there, but I still prefer analog. Digital implies the need for a battery, and I don't like that. I consider a tire gauge to be a piece of safety gear, and if I ever pulled out my gauge to find the battery dead, I'd be super pi$$ed.

Just my $0.02. YMMV.

The best Gauges can be found from racing supply companys... here is a link to some great accurate and easy to read gauges....Discovery Motorsports...click here...

Discovery Motorsports is a new company for racers run by racers... out of Atlanta GA I have no connection to them but I do know the owner and he treats his customers well.

I really like a digital I got from Wal-Mart. It was cheap and works great. 0.5 lb precision.

After all folks - this is only a tire guage! The important thing is that you do actually check your tire preasure on a regular basis.

For day to day driving yes most any gause will do... for motorsports , autocross track days... tire gauge quality , accuracy and most importantly consistancy are very important.... I have a 40 dollar gauge for race day... but keep a 10 dollar gauge in the car day to day. I also hate batteries and stick with non digital ones...

Almost. I avoid the cheap-o pen-style pressure gauges - I've seen them vary by about 10 PSI or more. Not good at all.

I went the snooty route; the official BMW tire pressure gauge. Yes it's digital, but supposedly a "lifetime" battery. So far so good (I've had it a few years).

Cheers,
Ryan

I've used the Accutire gauge I bought my wife once a month for 2 years now and no signs of a dead battery. I suppose if I was racing, I'd be more concerned, but the digital one is easy to use, easy to read, and fairly accurate.

I'm using the Victor digital tire gauge from Walmart- about $6 vs $11 at Checkers.
Seems to work fine and reads from 5 to 99 psi by 0.5 increaments. Has permanent Lithium coin cell battery and easy to hold with clear LCD display. Accuracy of +/- 1%. 5 year warranty.

I'd second the suggestion about chosing a quality guage from a racing parts vendor. I have a Moroso guage that I bought from Jegs a while ago. I also bought a rubber protector that fits around the guage and helps protect the face from scratches. It's not very light and it's probably not as accurate as a new digital guage but it's very sturdy and easy to use--the head rotates and you can release the pressure and re-read quickly with "quick release" button on the hose. The cost was reasonable--under $50, as I recall.
