You are correct. I've had my SSR's drilled do they fit on my new 06.

Drilling will void any warrenty you have but they will fit just fine.

My Work vs-xx does not fit as well. I don't want to drill the rims so I wait for the stud conversion from TSW. It should available any day now (hopefully).

hmmmm...

cause i'm looking at buying a set and after asking this same exact question i was told that they WILL fit perfectly.

are the new'er SSR comps different/made to fit newer studs maybe?
or is this guy buttering me up so he can make a sale?

I know they will fit the 07 Mini's without drilling them out, not sure about the late model 06's though. I know Rota Slipstreams from 18Racing.com had the insight to drill them to fit the new Mini's, but, I don't think SSR did. Anyway, I hope that helps. I'll send you the pics of the SSR's when I get back to KC in case you decide to get a conversion kit or decide you want to have them machined out to fit properly if you find out they won't fit.

Just so you know Craig, i wasn't refering to you/your wheel set.
You've never claimed that they would fit.
I'm looking at another brand new set with tires and the guy did say i won't have a problem so i'm not sure if SSR did anything to fix this 14mm issue, i know they don't make the SSR comp anymore so i don't think that's the case, i think they just wanna sell the set

worst case scenario, how much would it cost me to machine out the holes in order to fit the 14mm lugs?

i suppose it would be cheaper to buy the 12mm stud kit once it's out...i've been looking for a 14mm wheel lock lugnut and can't find any yet, i'm sure they have many different options for the 12mm size studs/nuts

I have 6 SSR 16x7 comps with tires in my garage off my 03 that WILL NOT FIT my 06 GP. Lug holes are too small. Some other models of SSR's do fit 14mm lugs. The Comps I have don't.
Waiting for txwerks stud conversion. Even with the stud kit I don't think the wheels will fit my 13in Wilwood kit. So I may have to sell them for 17's.

Drilling out the wheels would probably be cheaper (about $80, plus the cost of unmounting/remounting all four tires). --But--, that would only solve the problem for that one set of wheels. If you ever had to do it again to another set of wheels, you would have spent more than the stud conversion would cost.

Short answer - the stud conversion costs more than drilling one set of rims, but less than drilling two sets.

There are other reasons to convert to studs, the main one being that swapping wheels/tires at the track is just way easier.

That is also a major reason for stud kit. Changing wheels is so much easier.

I'm not sure about the Stoptech brakes and SSR's. You can check around the site about brakes. I know Eric at Helix sell's Stoptech. You may want to call him. I think you'll need a spacer but I'm not sure. Sorry.
