Recommend tires

I have an 04 MCS with 16 inch wheels. I want non-runflat tires. First desire is comfort, next is handling, and, finally, longevity.

I do not push the car hard around corners during daily commute and don't race it. Any thoughts?

For a stock MCS using stock 16x6.5" rims and stock suspension, a good place to start for all purpose driving would be-

Ultra High Performance All Season tires like the
Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position for $108 each from tirerack.com
205/55-16 400 treadwear AA traction 24 pounds fits rims 5.5 to 7.5", perfect fit for 6.5" rim, 24.9" outer tire diameter (a little tall but OK), W speed rated. It has good ratings and good test results. You can drive with confidence in wet or dry and in light snow if needed. It's more comfortable than many tires and wears well. You didn't mention price as a factor but it's moderate.

Alternatively consider High Performance All Season tires like the
Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S $135 each for V rated and $115 for H speed rated
205/55-16 400 treadwear A traction 23 pounds fits rims 5.5 to 7.5", perfect fit for 6.5" rim, 24.8" outer tire diameter (a little tall but OK), V/H speed rated. 205/50-16 is also available $ 163 each 24.1" tire diameter

H rated is OK for street use, V rated better for performance driving- driving school.

Talk to Alex@tirerack.com for more info and choices.

Summer tires will also be good, sometimes cost more, wear faster, offer very good handling but not be good for any snow.

Makes sense.

Alot of times owners don't want to risk mailorder and can get either
Sumitomo or Kumho from a local dealer at a good price (plus the local warranty).

Nothing wrong with that.

Under normal use many of these tires will perform well.

with the Tire rack, he has certain people in major areas that work with him to put your wheels on and whatever else you need. So your tires get sent to their garage. thats so cool. If i stayed 16's i would have used Alex exclusively. I miss 16's choices :( The pirelly p zero nero was my favorite tire. (i went retro kong rewinds 15's)

i bought them from tirerack actually. they are readily available
at sears or almost any tire store locally which makes it very
convenient in case one encounters a blow out.

otherwise you'll have to buy one extra tire (like my GS-D3) and
keep it somewhere.
