Wheels that clear AP Racing brakes - APRacing

I tried searching without any luck. I'm not sure if the 2-letter search restriction is stopping me, or if it just hasn't been talked about (can't imagine).

I'm looking for wheels that have been verified to fit over the AP Racing front brake kit (preferably without a spacer). My car currently has 17x7 OZ Superleggeras on it and they just do fit. I'm assuming that 17" SSR Comps fit since they have good clearance - not sure if the 16's fit. I have a set in my garage that I'll test fit when I get a chance. I'm thinking about moving to smaller wheels and am trying to decide whether to keep the brake kit or sell it.

Definitely Fits list:
-----------------
OZ Superleggera - 17x7 +37
SSR Competition - 17x7.5 +42
SSR GT-7 - 17x7.5
Team Dynamics Pro Race 1 - 17"
BBS RV-F - 17x7.5

Requires Spacer:
-----------------
Volk SE37K - 17x7.5 +40 (needs a 3-5mm spacer)
Kosei K1 - 17" (needs 8mm spacer)

SSR Comps 17 x 7.5 ET42 will with 5-8mm spacers

KOSEI K1 17 x 7.5 ET45 will with 5-8mm spacers

Following up on my own post. I got around to test-fitting some wheels I had laying around today.

The SSR Comp 17x7.5 wheel definitely does fit without a spacer. There is slightly more caliper to spoke clearance than the 17" Superleggera.

The SSR Comp 16x7 wheel does not fit without a spacer. The caliper hits the spoke. There is plenty of clearance between the caliper and inside of the wheel though, which means that with the right size spacer (I'm guesstimating 5-10mm ) these wheels should work. I don't currently have any spacers to test with.

15x7 SSR Comp does not fit - caliper hits inside of wheel.

I would also conclude (guess) that the 16x7.5 SSR comp should fit without a spacer. I know there is adequate caliper to inside wheel clearance, and the caliper to spoke clearance *should* be the same as the 17x7.5.

Bump. Wondering if there's any more input on this. I will likely need to buy new wheels soon.

SSR GT-7s 17x7.5 will definitely fit with no spacer and the price is right. They fit over my Stoptechs.

Corresponded with Alex @ Tirerack, sent him a brake fitment diagram and he had a tech test it on the 16x17.5" SSR Comp. They say it won't clear the spokes.

I guess the spoke shape varies between the 17 and 16.

I'm still contemplating buying one and seeing if I can make it work with a relatively small spacer. My car's currently on jackstands with no wheels so I need to hurry up and decide...
