DSC and Tire Pressure Light are on

I scratched up my rim against the curb earlier, was very annoyed but did not hear any leaking air or anything. Took the car out to run some errands and it felt like I had messed up the alignment. Get in the car after shopping and on the way home on the freeway my DSC and tire light came on? I noticed nothing new in handling. I slowed down and got off at the next exit (which was mine anyway) parked and looked at my tires. Hmm look like tires.
Anyone had this happen and have any suggestions on what I can do to narrow this down:smile:
Thanks

Had this problem, DSC, TPI, and ABS lights would come on for no apparent reason. There are a bunch of posts on mini2 about this, seems to be alot of frustrated people with the same problem. One dealer was not able to fix the problem for me, I don't think they tried very hard, but I took it to my regular dealer, and they fixed me up. They replaced one of the speed sensors, apparently the housing was cracked. Havent had the lights come on since.

Not sure if this is the same problem as you, as my ABS light was on.

Have you verified you have proper tire presure in all your tires? I'd start there.

Currently have this problem too, oddly enough it happens EVERYTIME I turn on the front fog lights! Taking it into the dealer ASAP.

And now, the jets for my windshield washer only work periodically. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't... I have filled the wiper fluid up every day to chart the problem, but there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it no pattern what so ever. anyone else had this problem?

1 month old and already I have GREMLINS... I am not pleased, but DAMN is the car fun to drive.

Almost any gas station will probably sell them. Should be under $5.

Lyle (lagston) is having this exact same problem. See if hes found a solution. He thinks it has something to do with the alignment.

I just talked to Peter at MINI of Mountain Veiw and it is the front end alignment. I am going to my old mechanic tomorrow to get it fixed. But the annoying thing is I need to go to MINI to get the computer reset
Yeah for me.
Teach me to not misgauge where those curbs are!
Cheers

why do you have to go to the dealer?! Thats bull... the tire light will go off after a few trips of everything being fine, and the DSC light should go off at the same time.

The issue as I understand it is different from a tire pressure warning. When the car detects that you have a flat, the TPI will flash. This will also render your DSC inoperable as the car uses the speed sensor to control the TPI, DSC, and ABS.

The problem that I had that is now fixed is that the TPI, DSC, and ABS would all come on solid and stay on. Therefore the car is not indicating that you have a flat, rather there is an issue with a sensor that controls the TPI, DSC, and ABS.

I plan to do everything I can to avoid paying them to do anything to my car
Once I get my alignment done I will see what happens.
Hopefully things will reset on their own. If not I will try disconnecting the battery and see if that resets anything.
They said I would have to come in... I will keep you posted.

Ok,
So I think everything is ok, cept I need to find a mechanic in the mid penisula who works on MINIs more than My old one since they had a hell of a time trying to do the front end align.
They could not get it to align perfectly. Oh well it is much better, and after turning the car off and on 3 or so times the lights have gone off... hope this is a good thing, although the DSC light came on a couple of times that I was not expecting.
So I will wait a few days to calm down and see how it drives before I do anything else.
Cheers
