17x8 et 30 is definitely going to push it for the rear. That's 4.3mm more poke than mine, which if I could I would reign in a few millimeters for more clearance. I can't wait to see it though

yeah but at -2 or more camber they should sit nice...again, it's all in the name of seeing what works. I was very happy with how much space I have between the struts and 215/45 tires. Did you happen to see how much camber you can get in the rear if you max it out?

I have a feeling you will need to get adjustable rear control arms to make your set up work - unless you are not planning on going that low with the coilovers.

My 18x8 ET45 set up encountered minor rubbing in the front with KW coils wound all the way down. The plastic has worn itself away now though, ha!

I've not had any rubbing issues in the rear as I have a little over -2 camber on there and even with two adults in the back it's OK.

I think the only reason I'm ok is due to the camber - a guy I know had 18x8 ET35 on his and took them off because the rubbing on the rear was so bad (again lowered on KW's)

I do plan on going pretty low...and I'm fine with rubbing as long as it's just the plastic flares. If it starts rubbing anything metal I have a problem. I'm sure some company will provide wider flares for this car...if not and I need some then I'll just have to build some myself!

Where are you finding the ST coilovers? Their site doesn't list them and when I contacted them they stated they weren't available.....

Looks like they are being sold by tunershop.com.

They have a 121kw and 141kw option under the Cooper S. Anyone know the difference? I also asked if their xta's come with top plates, otherwise what's the point.

Has anyone verified the part numbers and that these are correct? They reference a "built" date from 12/2006-

the 141 is the 2.0 S model...not sure if there is a detuned version of the 2.0 somewhere in the world. Also, keep in mind the ST-XTA does NOT have the camber adjustable top mounts.

Something isn't right on the ST Suspension listed. I contact the seller, Tuner Shop and they said there is nothing available for the F56, though their website and ebay listings state otherwise.

I've pointed this out to them so we'll see what happens.

Back on topic, i can now verify that with 215/45/17 tires at stock ride height with factory camber specs, 17x8 et35 up front will not rub under full load. 17x8 et30 in the rear WILL rub the fender under full load. It's not bad and you'd never encounter it during daily driving. A little camber in the back and it wouldn't rub at all. I believe when i lower it and dial in the camber this fitment will be about as agressive as you can go and will most likely involve some fender work to accommodate.

Quote: Quick peek of the new setup. My euro arches have been heavily delayed (parents bought them for me for Christmas and they still haven't gotten here) but as soon as they get here and it warms up a bit I'll take better pictures.
Damn, that looks bloody fantastic.

I loved the first setup...but the new setup is FANTASTIC!!!

I just picked up a a set of these in 18x8 35et for my Justa. But until we stop getting snow here in Canada, they're staying in the boxes.

PS - Anyone know where I can get 65mm MINI logo center caps similar to the stock one? I've gone up and down the internet with no luck.

Assuming you have the standard 7 inch wide stock wheel with 54et.....you're not concerned with fitment issues on those wheels? They're gonna be pushed out 32mm more than your stock wheel.

Awesome looking wheel nonetheless.

18x8 et 35 would be what I would consider the absolutely max you could run in the front. That's 3mm less poke then when I had my first setup, which was too much IMHO. It's still a very aggressive fit.

Also for anyone thinking of going really low on 17's... I've got less than 1mm of space between the collar and my tire in the front, and that's on a 7.5" wheel and 195/40 tires. I think really slamming it on a 17x8 wheel would be a challenge.

I checked with the manufacturer and the rim shop, and they both agreed that my "soon to be" setup is literally the max that could go on the car without modding the flares. I plan to lower the car, but not nearly as low as yours. The potholes in Toronto would wreck the rims and suspension. The rim shop also suggested that 205 tires would also help with the fit.

Quote: ^that looks fantastic, as I expected! Good work!

I ordered my new wheels and tires today:

O.Z. Alleggerita 17x8 ET35 with 215/45/17 Hankook R-S3. I expect this will be somewhat aggressive. Next up will be coilovers and a little camber.
What chance of a 225/45/17 rubber fitting without rubbing on stock suspension
Seems to be a far bigger choice of tyres available

I believe they would be fine as long as the offset isn't too agressive
