So what happens when you remove TPMS, do you get a constant annoying warning/beeping? I am thinking about just running some conventional valve stems on the wheels I get. Maybe there is a way to disable TPMS?
You get a warning on your nav screen (not sure for people with standard radio), and then the light blinks on your speedo before eventually just being permanently on. It's not a huge deal.
So ECS told me that there's some tool that the shop that installed them should have to "activate" them. They said that's literally the only thing that could be wrong. I'm skeptical since this shop knows what it is doing an the new TPMS sensors are essentially identical to every other BMW sensor for the past 5 or so years.
Well I wanted to get aftermarket tpms and keep my stock wheels as backup, rather not have to pay someone to pull the tires off my old wheels to take the tpms off and have to store 4 wheels and 4 tires seperately. Who knows I guess ill just deal with the light
Just ordered some NM engineering wheels. 18x7.5 et45. Also got a set of their prototype springs coming my way. They state lowering is more than the h&r's.

Meant to type 18". Typo. Yea they dont have 17s yet. But at 18.8lbs the 18s are crazy light. Im thinking once I do away with the stock 17s and runflats I will lost around 5-10lb per wheel. And they say rotational mass is equal to 4 times its weight thats like shaving 80-160lbs off the car.
yes, in my experience accelerating feels like less throttle is required to accomplish the same result with heavier wheels/tires. Thus when you step on it, it actually feels/is slightly quicker.
I'm running a set of avant garde M310s, 18x8 et 45 with 225/40/18s. I'm also lowered on NM springs.
Absolutely no rubbing in the front. Rear rubbed slightly on the inside top of the fender well and the plastic lip that sticks out. I trimmed the plastic and maxed out the camber and no more rubbing.
Somewhere between 40-45 for an 8" wheel would be good if you're going with a meaty tire. On the stock suspension you won't have to worry about any clearance issues.

Vic,
Could we see more pictures of the car and wheels? They look pretty interesting!
