Anybody using 205 55 16? Issues?

Anybody have any issues running 205 55 16 on a stock r53? Yes I searched, I come up with way to many results to get a quick answer.

I currently use 215 45 17 with no issues and when I put them side by side them seem to be the same height.

Thanks guys - I am also considering going with 205 55 R 16 for my snows -- on my stock Y spokes or whatever they are called. Appreciate the fast response from NightFlyR.

I am thinking I may put them on the car end of October.

I will be putting 2 snows on when I hear snow is coming. Then I will see if there are any issues but I feel not based of the user above using them.

Tr going for 195s on snows. Narrow tires are better for snow.

I use 205s on my 16" wheels.

My snows are also 205/55/16. But I have an R50. Last winter (when car was bone stock) I can tell you that the increased diameter had a negative affect on acceleration. When I put the heavier, but stock size runflats on in the spring, it felt like a new car. You may not feel the difference as dramatically with a more powerful R53, but it's still slowing you down.

On the upside, the fatter sidewall looks better, at least with stock springs.

The 195s are for sure better in the snow then the 205s, but for me as i do alot of highway driving and the roads get cleared pretty fast here the 205s were the better choice. I will say this much for the 205s, I live 1000 feet above sea level on a mountain with a very steep driveway, I also go to work at 2 am so when it snows like it did 2 years ago nothing would be plowed at the hour I went to work. I was never stuck, no snow tire is going to stop you from slipping and sliding 100%, but if you put 4 on the mini, drive with respect to the conditions you will be fine

go to: 1010 tire calculator so you can see the true specs and speed differences.

I am thinking of using a 205-50-16 instead of the 205-55-16
