R56 Squeaky noise while turning left.
Squeaky noise while turning left.
I have searched here and MA and got multiple answers which leads me to more uncertainty. I was wondering if anybody has encountered this kind of issue, where when you turn left it gives a constant high pitch squeal. I have checked the car and everything seems to be intact, Car also behaves normal. if anybody has an idea it would be greatly appreciated. Below is a clip of me driving for reference.
Can't hear much in your vid. If it's a metallic sound it could be your brake rotor dust shield hitting the rotor as the suspension deflects under load. It's an easy check: it's the think sheet metal part right on the inboard side of your brake discs (in the front).
Ya, I was going to say bearing too, but that' is pretty high pitched and haven't heard one particularly sound like. It does sound like something may be rubbing onto something else. As another idea, maybe try taking a high pressure washer at a car wash and spraying into your wheel/wheel well. See if it may just be a piece of debris stuck somewhere. Might not resolve the issue, but it's a start. Does it do this when you are going slow and turning in tight circles?

I concur with the idea that it's something around the brake system. If it happens when you turn the wheel to the left, the first suspect would be the right-front wheel. (Then LF, then RR, then LR. Sometimes sounds don't actually come from the direction they sound like they do.)
Look for rocks rubbing on the rotor, any evidence the sheet-metal dust shield is rubbing on anything, and check your brake pads while you're at it.

My mini just started making this noise as well. I thought it was the suspension, but that was fine. Pulled the wheel off and couldn't see anything obvious. Ill take a closer look and try the pressure washing idea too.
Let me know if you find anything specific causing the noise.

Any update, Casrio? Did you figure out what the cause was to your noise?

Long shot, but my car makes a noise when turning left as well. Happened ever since I took off the bumper to put in my intercooler. It's the alternator belt rubbing on the brake duct. Maybe it's a very slight version of that.
I have a similar issue, being in the new england area where they salt the roads like kids pouring sugar on unfrosted corn flakes the dust shields are deteriorated to **** and despite multiple efforts of bending them away from the rotors they somehow always find a way to get pushed back onto the rotors, then everyonce in a while a small pebble (from all the goddamn sand they put on the roads) ends up stuck on top of the pad... drives me nuts.
So I want to get rid of the dust shields completely but I'm affraid that will only make the pebble problem more common... new dust shields from ECS or the like are, like just about everything else for mini's, very pricey for what they are...
has anyone else had these issues and come up with a legit solution?

Does it go away when applying the brakes in the turn.
If so, worn rear pad against lip edge of a rotor will do exactly that...
Squeaky noise - exactly as yours

SInce buying this car, (I have a 2010 S (R56)) have had nothing but problems with it. Now this. The same noise as what I heard on your video. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
Mine was making that scraping noise and both times it was the front wheel bearings. Worn bearings have more play to cause other suspension components to come into contact. Easy to change once you remove the axle from the spindle.

Most of the time its the wheel bearings,

OK thank you. Going to have that checked out today.
It's definitely NOT the wheel bearing. Your front brake pads could be slightly glazed from heavy braking. When pads get glazed, they become thin coated of shiny metallic surface therefore metal on metal will produce high pitch sound.
