Two Weird Noises

Before I take my 2015 in to confirm what I am hearing and get it fixed I thought I'd check here to see if someone else has had this experience. At first I thought I heard something similar to wheel bearing noise. At low speed with the windows down, I heard nothing. Nor does that sound happen all the time with the windows up, normal driving speeds or when I back out on the driveway. The 2nd noise happens as I apply my brakes. I'm think that is just brake pads that need replaced, lines bled or possible rotors. Then on Friday when I heard that "bearing sound" I noticed it got loud when I turned right so once out on a open street with no traffic, I swerved back and forth going around 40mph. That would would stop when I turned the car back left to straighten it out and I would not hear it when swerving left.

I know this forum is great for finding answers like this. So here it is, plus the noises may help someone else in the future to track down what those sounds are and the solution.

Judging by the description of your problem, it sounds like your wheel bearing is starting head south.

How far south do you think it got in two years?

Far South

If your wheel bearing ended up in Key West, the bearing would have seized up by now but luckily your bearings hasn't reached the breaking point. Do you have a stethoscope handy? If you place the pickup piece on the wheel hub, you can hear a faint howling or grinding noise while your car is up in the air. That would be the one that's giving you misery.

Hope this helps
