I need to work some magic in the back though. I've rubbed through the plastic and now I think I'm actually hitting metal :l
ps, sorry for the cell phone picture, I'm working on getting some better ones!

I'm on megan coilovers with hsport control arms. In the picture, the front and back are both down all the way. This afternoon, I raised the back end about 1/4 of an inch to get rid of my rubbing problems.

You got any pics of the car from the front to rear that show if they are tucked or poking? What size tire are you running on the rims?
Thanks

Goldenomer, thanks for the pics. I am looking at getting the same wheel in chromium black for my white silver clubman. I just needed to see if the top of the wheel was tucked or poked. Thanks for showing me my answer. Also did you have to do anything with the camber or toe?

@rum, i run about -2 degrees of camber, but i'm also lowered so if you're at stock height, you should be fine
@srtoad, here is the link http://www.ebay.com/itm/20-PCS-BMW-5...12d55d&vxp=mtr

i got those and the lug nuts are just generic 12x1.5 tuner lugs

What's the probability of failure of the conversion kit and lugs falling out while driving wanted to get it done for my car but was scared of a rim falling off on the turnpike.

My original eBay kit failed. I had two lugs snap clean at the hub, but I was lucky enough to catch it before I lost a wheel. I've since had the TSW kit for almost 4 months with no problems. I've checked them basically once a month and they look as good as ever.

rubbing

I have a 2006 mini jcw on stock suspension and i also have a set of 17x8.25 and its rubbing pretty bad. Its chewing the plastic and tire up havent had it on a alignment rack so im not sure what the camber is set to but considering its stock should be in factory specs. i am running a 215 45 tire tho. trying to figure out how to stop it from rubbing. any help would be grateful.

First of all, the alignment hasn't changed one bit by swapping wheels or tires (unless you radically changed the rolling diameter), so don't worry about camber.

Secondly, why would you put such a narrow tires on such a wide wheel?
215mm wide tires belong on 7"-8" wheels: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes

Is it rubbing on the inside of the wheel well or the strut? If yes, then you have too large of an offset (what is the offset?) --> this can be cured by adding spacers to push the wheel back out away from the center line.

If the rubbing is on the outside (fender), your only remaining choices are to either ditch the wheels/tires, or to raise the ride height above the edge of the fender. Considering the suspension is stock, this would get ugly.

HTH,
alex

^ You could also cut a 10-15mm section of the metal arch away this is covered by the plastic arches, so it's completely unnoticeable as the plastic arch hide the damage to the naked eye. Some guys on m/u and MT have done this when running more radical offset wheels.

did you have to run any type of hubcentric rings or are these wheels hubcentric already?

I am hoping to run these wheels and sizes with 205/45/17 tires
lowered on BavAuto sport springs. and ill do the oem camber as much as possible, i just dont want any rubbing issues

That is an absurd price to pay for installing wheels with wrong (too small of an) offset for your Mini.
Sell the wrong wheels on eBay, buy the proper wheels, and you will have no problem fitting 215 or 225 wide tires !

I was looking at the 17x7.5 et40 to get as close to OEM as I could. I was thinking of the scrubbing against the fender flares.
Do you guys think that this narrower size will still look good? Or should I take the chance and go with the 7x8.25 et25?? This seems to be the choice of many.
I haven't lowered my car at all.
