Konig Feather vs. XXR 527
Greetings
I am on a quest to replace my stock 16" X-Lite wheels with 195/55/16 runflats on my 06 MCS. My two top choices are the Konig Feathers and the XXR 527's.
I want to widen my wheels and tires, and retain good cornering, and handling.
This means I need to stick to lower profile tires , 40 maybe 45 series.
So here is my dilemma. My mini is lowered with Swift 1 inch springs, how wide of a wheel, and tire combo can I go without rubbing.
Can I get away with the 17x8.25 XXR with 215/45/17 or maybe 225/40/17 ?
Or am I better off with the proven and tried Feathers which happen to be 2lbs lighter also. I really like the XXR 527 looks, and would love to make them work, but would be interested in others thoughts.
Tx

wide wheels and wide tires together aren't always a good idea in terms of fitment. If you want to run a 215 or 225 series tire you would be better off with a 7 or 7.5" wheel offset in the low to mid 40s. the 17x8.25 can fit no problem but it would probably force you to stick with a 205 tire.
