XXR 530 vs XXR 527

Ok so need to get new tires because I have like 2/32 left on them and I figured that I might as well get some rims while I'm at it so... I've narrowed it down to these two rims the XXR 527 and 530. I'm looking to get 17x7 with a 215/45/17 in the 530. Looking at the chromium black or the gold color for my PW r56. Not sure about the offset what do the different offsets look like? Anyone running these? What do you guys think will they look good? Flush? Suggestions?

I'm pretty sure that I want to get 17 but I'm still willing to consider 18. I'm going to get a a 17x8.25 with a 215/45/17. Looking at the chromium black or the gold color for my PW r56. Careful about running your tires down so low, usually about 4/32" tread left is time to shop due to risk of hydroplaning after any more wear happens.

215/45-17 fits rims 7-8" wide so you are OK. If you lower your MINI there would be less clearance due to the tall tire diameter and wider than stock rim. With stock suspension you are fine.

The rims are 25mm offset which for that width is OK for the MINI. Facing the inside of the wheel well there is enough room but on the outerside the wheel and tire will stick out 1.3" inches which is a little on the wide side. If it looks too much you can try to do an alignment that gives a little more negative camber to tilt the tires inward a little. It's likely you will be fine since the 215mm tires are a little narrow on that wide rim.

Of the two wheels I like the 530 better but it's your decision.

Definitely prefer the 530's but hey are both nice wheels. Be mindful of your ride height as I think the offset is 35? So you might run into rubbing if it is too low. I had 38 offset as my last set and did get rubbing in the rear over dips (1 1/2 finger width of gap). If height is an issue maybe 40 series rubber or 205's but if not that low the 45 series rubber definitely more comfortable

Well if I get the 17x7 the offset will be +35. I don't think they will rub on stock suspension. How far out will they poke? And do you think they will rub with springs?
@minihune I know I'm pushing it.

If you do get these wheels in 17x7" et 35 then compared to stock 17" wheels, your wheels will fit 18mm or 0.7" wider to the outside which is fine for most owners. They should not rub the springs or any suspension parts.

Just use tires that are not too tall-
205/45-17
215/45-17 slightly tall but OK for you.

Well I currently have the stock 16s not 17s and if I were to get the 17x7 then I dedinately would get the 205/45. But how much of a wheel gap do you think I would have on stock suspension. Would it look better with springs?

If you look at any stock MCS (check out a parking lot) you will see a generous gap for 17" wheels and tires on stock suspension (even with your wheels being 16").

If you want to close that gap a little then for 17" wheels you can choose
215/45-17 tire size.

For 16" stock wheels to close the gap you can choose 205/55-16 tires.

Lowering springs will also reduce the gap, the amount of drop will vary, you have to pay for the installation and not all lowered cars are as comfortable for street use- depends on which set of springs you choose.

Does any one know what type of TPMS I would have to buy with any links. And I was told that I could remove the ones from my current rims and put them on the new ones. Will any tire shop be able to do this for me?
