Oops, disregard. I just retread hour post and you have 16" wheels. That might work.

I'm just worries about it being 8 inches wide. I wonder if it will rub something?

That width will work. Your 205 x 50 x 17 are 8.1" wide which is what you said you have now. At least that's what the measurements are on my tires.

That's critical. My guess is the offset will be quite low, making them not a good fit for your MINI.

A sway bar will keep the car flatter in corners, but has no effect when you go over a large bump with both wheels. So depending when the tire is rubbing, the bar may not help.

As for 225 x 50 x 17, personally with my experience I think you might have fender trim problems.
Are you talking about bmorrow, above? The tire mentioned was a 225/50R16, not a 17. The 16" one should fit fine, assuming the wheel offset is high enough.

Good day to all. Love the rota rims. My quest is to give my car the wide look. I want a rim with a nice lip and off set. Love the RB-X rim. Does anyone know if it could fit? Please send me a inbox.

Keith.
Ps I'm new to the site so still feeling my way through it.

That's a lot less offset than the stock wheels. I would not run them, but the wheels will definitely fit on the car. Whether the tire will hit the fenders or not, I don't know.

Nope - Black top w a couple of flat silver/grey stripes right down the center.
I could use a little de-chroming up front too...
First things first, want to ditch the stock wheels and NOISY run flats!

i've had my rb's with conti extreme contact dw for a a little over a year now...they've been great! they definitely ride smoother than the rfts, but not all that much more quiet. my original rfts lasted about 20k miles. i have about 25k on the dw's and they still have some meat left. it was a no brainer to go with non-rfts.

Any issues with TPMS or anything in switching wheels?

Second I would love to see a pic of your car with the wheels!

Thanks

no issue with switching the tpms. i purchased the rebuild kit when i bought the tires, but i prob didn't need them. i'll snap a pic for you during lunch. i don't think i would get any other color rb's for a BRG mini.

Has anyone had any issues with the clear coat peeling on these? I've had a set of the Gunmetals for about a year and a half now and the clear coat is chipping off of the polished lip on only one of the wheels. literally in one week it went from perfect to half of the clear missing all the way around the rim. I haven't used any weird chemicals on it or anything, always mild soap and water.

Yes, Louie. My Rota's are also beginning to peel/flake off. Mine are also just a couple years young. Used only in the summer. Like you, mild Meguiar's soap.

I'm guessing our only recourse will be powder coating, or plastidip (well,...or new wheels)
