A few wanted to see BRG with gloss black/chrome. Here they are in a 16" purchased from fastmini.net with 205/50/R16 Hancook Ventus V2 Concept tires. Sorry for the night pics. I do wish I had bought silver though. Would have gone better with the chrome accent scheme I have.

Thoughts?

MachV, want to trade me out for 16" silvers? Wishful thinking I suppose. Thank you all for looking.

Sorry, we don't trade wheels. But for what it's worth, I think it looks terrific as it sits.

Oh and a quick note on the new Kuhmo Ecsta PA31's that I ordered...
Pretty good. A brand new tire released this fall. Running 215/45/17 on the Rota RB's. I was skeptical going for cheaper brand than Michelin or Continental, but these have lived up to their promise of QUIET (esp. compared to the Bridgestone run flats they replaced) and they handle very well and are comfortable riding.
Happy with the purchase after a few thousand miles if anyone was curious.

You guys have convinced me to buy a set but I have 2 questions:

-Will my stock 17" tires fit the 17x7.5 RB's?

-What finish would you buy if I was going to paint them bronze?

I'd think the matte black would be best for paint adhesion but I'd like the silver lip. It would need to be primed anyway so I guess this is kind of a non-issue.

I believe Dan has gold. Strip the clear and darken the gold to a bronze. Might make the paint prep easier?

Dan, ashchuckton thank you for the compliments.

any horizon blue with Rota RBs?

also, is the 16x7 a direct fit (i have a 2011 MC base)?
does it come in hyper black?
what is ideal tire size for this rim?
will i notice better handling / decreased mpg from my stock R100 rims?

sorry for all the questions, this is my very first post on these forums...

Those will bolt right up with no problem.

I would run a 205-50-16 tire. For me that is an ideal size.

Sorry I can't help with your other questions.

Tried to get them from Dan at Mach V but he didn't have hyper black in 16". Went with A Spec wheels. Found them on eBay, search for Rota RB. They were $550, free shipping. Arrived in 2 days.

I picked up a set of 16x7 +40. I should have no fitment issues on my 06 S with the sport suspension, correct?

Could you take a picture of the whole car? Thank you!

I am now torn between the silvers and hyper black. Wish I could see Hyper Black on a BRG MINI.

I think silver is shinier. Hyper black is pretty close to silver.

Just got these. I was going to wait another week or two to take off my Blizzaks, but just couldn't do it.
16X7, gloss black.
Thanks to Dan.

Ok, what the heck color is hyper black ? Looks silver to me. And how do these hold up to rock dings etc ? I got like 4K on my MINI and have several chips in my factory 2 spokes and I don't go on gravel roads.

I like these rota's, was looking at GP style but these look good , was thinking gun metal for my kite blue clubbie but the hyper black is different, I don't like black or white. I do see the gun metal on horizon blue, I like.

Good question. There is no black in the hyper blacks. They are silver, just a little darker than regular silver.

Thank you Mike that was exactly what the doctor ordered!

I am set on the Hyper Blacks. Now to sell my gloss black/polished lip 16x7s. They are in the market for anyone interested.

Someone explained to me that Hyperblack is actually a black wheel with a thin coat of silver paint over top the black, which gives it a sort of smoked look.

Do these wheels stand the test of time ? Do they start pealing ? How do they hold up to rock dings ?

Ok, wife liked these over my other choices so pulled the trigger on the 17x7.5 hyper black.

Do these work ok with factory bolts ?

And now to decide on 215 or 205 45/17 , I have 205/50/16 now so like to get more patch , but don't want any rub either, but would be nice to have speedo closer as I'm off 3 at 60 now.
