What does this much tire do to gas mileage? I hope a 17x8 wouldn't hurt it too much..

my car is a DD. and I didn't see any difference in gas mileage... u shouldn't have any problem with 17x8. make sure u get the tight ET.

Hey guys so i just picked up my red and black mini cooper S.

I plan on getting wheels first but I realized getting some decently wide wheels is going to be alot of money and im trying to keep some money for performance mods.

Anyways, What would 16x7's with 195 tires look like on 15 or 25mm spacers? Would it look goofy? Should i just save up and get some wider wheels? Cause I want all four tires stickin out, im not worried about handling ill just take the spacers off if i plan on doing autoX.

And my cars red with a black top. Should i get black wheels and put a red pinstripe around it, or should I get black wheels with a chrome lip. Or should i just get normal silver wheels??

edit:

im on stock ride height, I dont plan on lowering it anytime soon unless I plan on doing autocross and stuff.

anyone got any comments toward my idea?
i wanted to fit 17x9 et 25 rear, and 17x8 et 28 front maybe et20 on the rear, i am going to be purchasing h&r street coilovers, and plan to slam my r50 to the ground making it look smooth, but dont know if this will work, will i need to purchase wheel spacers? if so what size? also what would be the recommended tire width and brand if i wanted to stretch the tires pls help me out
branz

You cant get specific offsets unless you custom build wheels. Wheels are only available in they're available offsets. The only thing you can do is add spacers to lower your offset.

And you wont be slammed on 17s. You can get rid of your wheelgap but you wont be close to the ground.

Heres my car on 15x8 et15 all around with 195/50 tires.

Gotta go direct to manufacturers and be prepared to pay some coin. CCW makes great looking wheels and will build to any specs you want.

The only other thing I can recommend is to get a set of BBS RS (the same as the white mesh face rims on the blue car above) cause they're 3 piece so you can split them and get deeper lips to lower the offsets. But they're expensive too. Expect to pay between $1500-$2500 when you're all said and done unless you get lucky and find a set thats already the size/offset you need.

And my car is on V-Maxx coils with ALOT of room left to go down. No spacers. I cant speak from experience how low the ksports go.

Do you have H&R Street or RSS? The Street only go moderately low but the RSS go considerably lower. 1st and 2nd gen Minis have almost identical suspension so one would not go lower then the other. blong808 has the street version which I used to have on my Mini.

I've gotten my Clubbie pretty dang low before on RSS, and it still showed a good 1.5" of thread left. I can only imagine...

Width wise, No not really

You cant go smaller than 16" on the R56 though.

Of course you can. It's just going to limit how low you can go unless you run pretty fat tire sizing.
