I wouldn't see it as a problem, considering people are running 235/40 w/ an et45 and no rubbing.

Hahah yah, definitely not an easy wheel to come by. I wouldn't say hardest to get, but it takes time. 9 out of 10 times, if you see RS's or RM's on a MINI, I had a hand in helping them find the wheels for their car and getting the stance situated

17's and 16's are especially hard. Only one model of 16" RS was ever made for 4x100 and that was for old e30 BMW's (16x7 et25....no good). No 17's were ever made in 4x100. 15's are a bit easier and can be found pretty readily.

Just edited a better pic of the offset fitment on 16" rs's. 16x7 et33 16x8 et33 205/40/16

There are a whole bunch of sets on rbwheels.com right now. 3 sets in 16" and 7 in 17". None in 4x100 but they offer to have them redrilled for $200 a set.

RB won't mention it, but their wheels generally need to be refinished. Both lips and centers.

Yes, RB does carry them.
They are 5 bolt patterns since 4x100 was rare and the cost jumps once you start getting them redrilled and refinished for the mini.
If they do redrill them, once that step is done the heat generated in order to do the fill and drill will burn the paint so you will also need to get the centers refinished as well, so it's not a simple order and install.
I ended up needing to run spacers, custom sizes and really worked on getting the fit right. the offsets are what is the biggest issue since they are mostly not friendly offsets for a mini fit..

yea, I know RB's wheels almost always need to be refinished, but rs's are rs's and $1500 for 17" rs + $500 for redrilling + refinishing isn't a bad deal.

Depending on the widths you chose to run with, you will most likely need to order a few more items that will still end up revealing hidden costs along the way. Most likely you will need atleast Rear lower Control Arms, to adjust camber in order to fit a larger wheel. To get the proper offset you will also need some custom spacers most likely as well as longer bolts to have enough threading when running spacers.

The $1500 dollar price tag is definetly appealing, Unless you can find a set close to a +32 Front & +25 Rear, the above are all things you should look into since the price will then be around $2500.

If you are really concidering the RS's, you should probably pick up a set that is a bit cheaper since you will be doing the Re-Drill/Re-Paint/Lip Re-finish anyway..

It's not my daily since I don't drive to work every day, most days I take a shuttle to the station in order to save some $$.
I would use it as my daily without thinking twice though, today I was running a bit late so I drove into Manhattan.

That is just the answer I was hoping for!

In regards to the suspension mods, I presume you will need coilovers, front and rear control arms and possibly spacers if the wheel offset isn't what it should be. Is there anything else needed?

And lastly, is there much custom fabrication to the wheel wells and/or arches? Thinking in regards to a 16 x 8.5 or something along those lines.

Once I get the body stuff finished in the next month Ill be working on suspension, so just trying to get ideas and how much effort and money is involved.

Coilovers, camber plates and rear control arms. Maybe adjustable endlinks but no front control arms.

There should be no need for custom fabrication with the right suspension, wheel offset and tire size.

Good luck

Around et 38 should be flush. The lip size is a personal preference type of thing. IMO it really depends on the style of the wheel. Generally speaking maybe between .75" and 2"

The wheels that I'm planning on getting are the Works Vs-XX and the wheel are going to be custom made for any spec that i want. So i picked out the wheel size to be 17's and the width is 7.5, but some people say i should go 8's or go bigger. IMO I think what I'm doing is good but i just want other peoples feed.
thanks

Well if you are going for that "aggressive fitment"/"poke and stretch" look 7.5 all around doesn't really fit the bill. 7.5 is pretty standard. I would say either 7.5 front 8.5 rear or 8 front 9 rear. Maybe 8.5 all around if stagger is your thing.
