I don't think 16" RS's will clear the R56 MCS calipers either. They barely cleared my MC second gen calipers. Not that anyone asked...

Okay folks. I'm at a loss. I've been through quite a few threads here and at Motoring Underground and have narrowed my choice of wheels down to either the Maxxim Remember:

http://www.1010tires.com/wheel.asp?w...ember+-+Silver

Or the infamous Rota RB wheel:

http://www.fastmini.net/rotarb.html

I have an '03 R50 which is a daily driver and will retain the factory suspension. Consequently, I do not want to go for the stretched look and prefer to keep the wheels flush with the car, albeit with a more agressive tire.

My questions are:

1) Does anyone have any anecdotal evidence with the Maxxim wheel as it pertains to quality and construction and weight?
2) What offset of the Maxxim wheel would you recommend (20 or 35et) given my requirements above? As an aside, I note that the RB comes only with a 45et.

My apologies for posting yet another wheel related question; there are so many as it is! Hope I don't get flamed for this one

Thanks in advance.

Asif

Well that was easy! Thanks for that. Now as an aside, from what I understand about offsets, the 35s will be more flush with the body than the 45et of the Rota which will be tucked inside the arch more? Am I correct in assuming that?

Thanks again for the quick response.

Can't say that I wasn't pondering the idea If only I could find some "real" RS's!

They're out there. There's nothing wrong with rocking replicas, just don't try to misrepresent them as the real thing.

Hey battle, hope all is well over there. Be safe! What unit you with?

I'll try to explain some the best I can. I'm sure Rally can chime in on this, he's one of the better people to get a short description from.

"Et" is the offset of yer wheel, how deep/shallow yer hub will sit inside yer wheel.
Yer 17x7.5 is outter dimensions of the wheel itself; 17" tall by 7,5" width.

The "S&P" is a "stretch n' poke". Gotta narrow tire on a wide wheel, makin the tire stretch over the wheel, lookin like the wheel is pokin' out. Gotta be slammed (lowered) to finish off the look. Stanceworks.com is a great site to view SnP setups.

That's as short and sweet as I could do without grave detail. I'm sure plenty others can add-on to what I have like good sizes and offsets to look for in a wheel/tire combo for a good look. Have it.

Again, be safe battle. Good luck, and come home!

16x7 +33 wont really poke (Basically you'll be flush with the arches) so I wouldnt run too much stretch.

www.tyrestretch.com is great for helping to decide on a good combo

Where can i find 13x10 rims? Lol. i've read somewhere that these would fit. The reason is because my friend wants to buy my 16x8's and i'd like to go wider.

They'll fit but you know those prices are per wheel right?

I just wanna make sure cause going from XXRs to Works is a big leap. I say if you've got the cash, Get some coilovers first and get some other cheap wheels until you can decide exactly what you want (thats what Im doing.) $2000 is alot of money to spend on something you've only researched for a day.

Also, even if you ordered those wheels right now, you probably wouldnt have them before May. Its usually like a 90 day wait for those cause they're special order from Japan.

Can you tell me what size and brand wheels are these? Looking very nice!

Would these fit on my '05 mini? http://www.1010tires.com/wheel.asp?w...ld&pc=96288087 ?

I'm looking for one with a deep dish and this one has it. But i'm not sure if the front would fit 18x8.5 & 18x9.5 for the rear.

18" CCW Classics, 18x8 et 27 up front, 18x8.5 rear et24

Our cars cant pull off that stance with 18s. If you go that big you'll have to be tuckin.
