I have the same Wilwood set up as you.
I had to install 16mm spacer to clear calipers.
Running S-Lites, 17 x 7.

Just did a trial fit of the Wilwood 12.2 track BBK. Nice setup. I was very surpised to find that the stock Mini 16" Bridgespokes fit without spacers . These seem to be very BBK friendly for a stock wheels. The S-lites are another story...need spacers...don't even come close to fitting. The 17" Enkei RPF1 and Turing fit with a lot of clearance; the Turings have more clearance than the RPF1s

Go to Todd's web page for Minis. The templates are posted there (part of the installation instructions).

You can also do some searches for wheel fitments for different BBKs including Wilwoods.

The Wilwoods are a nice setup and an easy install.

You can also compare both the Wilwood factory (11.75 and 12.2) kits vs the TCE/Wiwood kits on my "WHEEL FIT" page.

You'll note the difference between that page specs on the ones on the pdf link. The reason for this is that Wilwood includes an air gap of about .125" whereas I supply the exact data without air gap.

Need Some Wheel Sizing Help

I recently took delivery of a 2012 JCW Coupe.

It came stock with the 17" Challenge Black Spoke Wheels.
This car has the big Brembo front brakes.

I would like to put Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 Gloss black wheels with the 40MM offset.

I have been told that they will fit by the vendor and an owner of another Mini but not the Coupe. Will these clear the calipers etc. without a spacer and work for this car?

I really don't want to order the wheels and have to return them.

Thanks I appreciate it.

Pat

There is a whole thread about wheel fitment with the JCW brakes (should be the same as the Brembos). Do a search and you should find it.

I think I am on that thread. I looked and wasn't sure. The car is a new Coupe so I'm not really sure if information from 2008 is still accurate. I would assume the Brembo brakes have changed over the years?

Thanks guys!
I was looking for templates which are original size.

But I don't need them anymore. Yesterday I got the information that I can't legalize the Wilwoods in Austria.
So I have to go with the JCW Brake Kit.

They are both a great setups. The difference is the JCWs require 17" wheels and either of the Wilwoods will fit 16". Otherwise, enjoy.

To bump the template to full size you simply enlarge the pdf to size and print it out.

I've shipped kits to Austria without any known issues. But granted; with shipping costs and inspection issues the Brembo kit, because it's essentially oe, is probably an easier and more direct method.

Try this thread and post your question there. Also, you might want to try the Coupe forum

Ok, my question. The wheels I run on my R55S are 17" R108 in wintertime and 18" R113 in the summer, both with 15mm spacers. I can get hold on a Stoptech BBK (328mm). Will the wheels fit with the spacers I'm having?

Thanks for the info!

Keep in mind for those reading that this is on the 1" wide custom kit. The stock .810 will move that caliper inboard .200" or roughly 5mm (?)

yup i made the trade off that the wider rotors were worth the trickier fitment and stud conversion etc for me, based on my use, being able to stand on the brakes lap after lap with confidence and keeping 225/45/15 tires is quite a fun combination

love the brakes, todd, and appreciate the customer service

the spacers are needed on my 15" wheels to move the wheel so that the larger diameter part of the barrel is near the caliper, the spokes have plenty it is the barrel of the wheel that needs to be moved outboard a bit, as the barrel closes up a bit as you get close to the spokes

hope that helps!

I just fitted TCE's Wilwood DP6 with JCW 316mm rotors on my 12' S Coupe. TCE was great to deal with. Wheels are Mini OEM Black Conical's. They fit with literally 1mm of air gap facing the spokes. Too close for my comfort so I added 5mm H&R's/bolts front and back. Bought a PowerBleeder for the install as well, great tool. Topped off with Wilwood 570. These brakes stop NOW. It may be the added diameter of the JCW rotor, the calipers or the combo, but they feel great. Pedal feel is high, a tad firmer and very easy to modulate.

Here you go Todd, sorry she's dirty, it's been raining. Again, R56 JCW 316mm rotors and TCE/Wilwood DP6. Wheels are Mini R121, Black conicals.

Hard to tell, but there is about 6mm of space till the curve of the spoke and the caliper make contact. This is with the 5mm H&R's in place. You can see the wheel weight in the last pic, about a 1/2" gap. 13" rotors?, maybe, with a 15mm spacer. 14"?, i doubt it.

Nice...on the coupe also!

I'm surprised I have not sold more of these really. I put it out perhaps too soon when the larger disc was perhaps too costly. For rotor size it's equal to the Wilwood 12.2 kit but not 2pc making it a tad heavier. But it's also $200 less money. And a nicer caliper vs the DynaPro Radial mount 4 pot.

The original plan was for R53 owners to be able to bump to the JCW 294 rotor on the old car and R56 owners to bump to the new JCW rotor. In theory if you guys would work together....everyone would save some money!
