Thanks for the "permission" to do something to my own car. The lip actually shows more than I thought it would, so painting them red would have a nice effect. I doubt I would do anything for a long time. "Honey, why are your headlights in the oven" didn't go over well. I can't imagine what "Honey, why is your car on jack stands, wheels are hanging from the ceiling, and you have a rattle can in your hand?" would be like right now.

Masking off the rest of the wheel would be like pulling nose hairs.

What offset were you running? I've heard waxing with Creosote keeps the beavers away, adds lifespan to the wheels and works wonders with the control of brake dust . . .

Wouldn't that make your actual speed way higher than what the speedo indicates?

There are 231 pages of all imaginable combinations of wheels/colors/suspensions represented in this thread. Some people use the search, whereas others go through the whole thread looking for inspiration, and information.

Requesting pics in a thread like this will typically only get you ignored.

Personally I think chrome only really suits black Minis. It also depends on how much chrome u already have on your car and how often you are willing to clean your wheels. I have 18 inch chromes and I clean them at least twice a week. Brake dust can build up and if you have chrome rims the brake dust can actually make the chrome a bit patchy and ruin the shine.

Willing to clean??? With all due respect, I have been know to wash my car every day of the week; have washed it in below freezing weather, trying to deal with the water freezing, and have spent hours cleaning the inside of the rims. So cleaning is the last of my worries!! I have been accused on more than one occassion of being a little particular. Actually, I need to buy stock in Zaino! Anyway, thanks for the feedback.

We are on tight water restrictions here. Used to be $400 fine if you were caught using a hose, or watering something other than a plant. And good old 4 minute showers

But if cleaning is not an issue go for chrome. I did

PS: I can see the links and one lil blue box with a question mark in it below the last link. (I am on a mac)
