Thanks Minian, I'm not a DS fan either but your "Patriotism" shot looks great. BTW I like your tow hook! You've certainly got the right look going on with your color combo!
Thanks much! You need to put somepics of your in your gallery.

Minian,
Don't you mean the different size tires change the accuracy of the odometer? You could technically put 20's on the car if the outside diameter of the tire was the same as OEM. (as far as accuracy is concerned)
Semantics....

think before hitting the "submit" button. how do bigger, wider rims affect the accuracy of the odometer. clearly, wider rims will make no difference. "bigger" rims will not, by themselves, cause inaccuracy. only when coupled with tires that are taller/shorter than OEM, will odometer/speedometer error occur.
My point exactly Bean! We're not talking about OEM wheels and tires.
No one likes someone who barges in with an insulting comment. If I misspoke I'll except that and learn from it.

I was told by a police officer, well practiced in radar detection, that changes in OEM tire width and diameter affect the accuracy of your odometer/speedometer. Is it true? Maybe not, but having been a part of stealth development I know that small variations make a big difference in R.A.D.A.R signature. To the average person tire width and diameter has nothing to do with radar/odometer readings, but to those with training albeit Police or Military/Georgia Tech (as I have) there is a difference.
I concede my word choice was wrong, but the point I was trying to make was not. Changing tire width/height affects odometer accuracy hence radar differences that may get you a ticket.
I guess I should have said that in the first place.

Bean, apology accepted.

Height effects it of course, width does not.

Second, seeing as how a police offer CANNOT write you a ticket unless you are more than 5mph OVER the speed limit (at least in Florida, it's just a 'warning'), the fact that your odometer is reading 5% slower than you are actually going DOESN'T matter. At 5%, going any legal speed limit, it wouldn't put you 5mph over the limit regardless. So your point is moot. Sorry, just had to call you out on that.
Anywho, for NICE lips, not that crap I mentioned earlier, wide wheels and low offsets are a must, a bigger diameter wheel is NOT necessary.

i don't normally slam someone in a post. maybe it just hit me at the wrong time/day....back to wheels. i'll post here when kodiak finally ships my new track wheels and open myself to any critique. love, greg

Can't wait to see those Kodiaks, which ones did you go with?
That was my 03 Mini in the Patriotism Shot, which is the one in flames in my gallery. I ordered an 06 with the same specs, I could have had an 07, but didn't like the looks of it.

Not to beat a subject up more but if your worried about different tire/rim sizes affecting the speedo/odometer you can always use a sat nav system as a measuring stick. I've got a garmin and it tracks MPH and distance. I used it to check the accuracy when I went to my 18" rims.
Unless the wheel face is ridiculously convex (cheater's way of getting lip on skinny wheels) , that would require the wheel to be 17x7 et 12 and would look pretty goofy on a MINI with such a skinny wheel poking that much.
Again not true, I received numerous compliments and offers to buy.
Remember: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I'm not familiar with the term, but the tire shops called them "reverse rims."
