D***IT Dan...Quit showin' those wheels...

They'd look mighty fine on a certain CR R50.

Maybe this spring if I'm good...

I've got my interest narrowed down to Rota B in Gunmetal or Black with polished rim but still debating 16 or 17. I also have to admit that I like the stock look of the 17" S Lites. I really don't like the "jewel" type specialty wheels (for lack of a better term).

I like those too. But then I remember that they weight 25.1 pounds EACH!

S-Lites 25.1+19=44.1/corner x 4 = 176.4#
RBs 18.2+19=37.2/corner x 4 = 148.8#

#1 - Put helium in the S-lites to reduce the weight
#2 - But seriously, are the Royal Blacks available in 17?

I like the gunmetal ones. probably pull the trigger on them in a month or two, once the potholes are mostly patched up... the crown spokes are looking pretty grim

Are the silver ones painted? I finally drove far enough between washes on a long road trip that the crown spokes got really filthy and will need a serious scrubbing, and I'm wondering if natural metal will repel the crud better...

Yes. At least the 16" RBs I had were. I damaged them and am now running Rota Streamlines. They are lighter than the RBs and easier to clean.

You wont find many raw aluminum wheels around these days. I actually have a set of CenterLine RPM 17x7 that are raw aluminum. They don't repel brake dust better, and the aluminum can oxidize. So, you have to polish and wax them.

Waxing wheels will make them easier to clean. There are a number of waxes designed just for wheels. Detailer's Paradise (see NAM vendor list) has some.

My solution was to replace the factory brake pads with Carbotech 1521 Bobcats. Brake dust isn't much of an issue now. These pads are supposed to last longer, and be easier on the rotors. I'm quite happy with them. They perform well too.

Thanks. Maybe I'll just get gunmetal, and wax them more dutifully, so I notice the crud less.

I know that this has probably been asked before, but can these be just a bolt on, for a 2009 JCW? Great looking wheels.

If you look in the Factory JCW section for the r56's you'll find a sticky up top on aftermarket wheels that fit the JCW. Seems like the ROta RBs in 17x7.5 won't fit without a spacer.
