I'll give Jessica a call. Do you know if 15x8 will fit on MINI?

I sent an email to 18racing this afternoon and sent a message to jlbmotorssports tonight. I sure hope they tell me I can get them in that size in the flat black. I know they make them in royal black in that size and if I can't get them in the flat black, that would be my second choice, I just think the flat black would look very bad A$$ on my car !

Flat black is going to look really nice on your PW MINI, and if you dechrome your car completely, even more aggressive looking IMO.

Unfortunatly no Flat black or royal black.
I just exchanged emails today with Jessica and found out that I can get them (16x7,40mm, 56.1) in flat black if I want to special order them. Three months to make them and half down up front. Maybe ! I might just try to find a dealer that has a set in Royal black and go that route. Flat black might be worth the wait though.

Well, if you lived in the north, where we get salt and snow... the 3 month wait wouldn't matter. It doesn't stop snowing up here until late april.

Dunno, it's up to you. Flat black would be sweet.

Hey great timing
no-one at Mach V ever returned my email about them (Feb.1), so I ordered a set from 18racing.com yesterday.

I got my 17x7.5 flat black RBs in today. They look great, but I won't have my car back until some time next week!!! I'm going to hold off on a tire choice until my coilovers are installed so I'll be able to pick the best fit.

The car is a fully dechromed PW with lots of flat black accents and a touch of red, so I think the wheels are going to match perfectly

got my 16x7's today, silver w/ polished lip, going to have the runflats & TPMS sensors swapped over to the new wheels Tuesday afternoon. They are some FINE looking wheels. in 16" they're perfectly proportioned, I thought the 17's made the spokes look a little stretched.
I've got to say the price & shipping speed from 18racing.com was killer !

Had the same problem with Mach V only I called for two days before I ordered from Urban Imports. I got the silver on my Chili red with 215/40/17 Yoko Spec 2's.

I got the 57.1mm bore wheels and I have had some vibration problems, took to John at Tire Rack In Gville, where I bought the tires, and he put on rack and torked in the air after hand tightning lugs, still a little shimy at low speeds but almost unnoticable at highway speed.

Should have got larger bore and went with rings.

I don't know how to respond to the email/phone issues. n1tr0, I don't find any email from you, nor do I have any voice mail from ChiliSteve. I guess all I can suggest is if you don't get results using one form of communication, try another...like a PM. But we're at the shop six days a week, and I haven't had any other complaints that we're hard to reach.

I'm out of stock now on gunmetal/polished lip 16" RBs, but still have silver, and 17" are in stock in both gunmetal and silver.

Dan, I tried to call you guys the week of Jan 21 leaving many voice mails with a callback phone number, I don't mean to be critical of your business I would have liked to order from you and may someday but I am new to the NAM community and didn't know you were on here.
I will say that I LOVE the Rota RB wheels and I get loads of compliments on them would have rather had the gunmetal or black but I am well pleased.

Ah. We moved that weekend. The people we shared the old shop with went out of business and locked us out; we couldn't forward the old phone number or retrieve old voice mails.

Bore concern

I am concerned about the 1mm difference in the bore diameter. I have made the mistake of not using the right hub rings and the wheels had a shaking problem. Since the difference is only a .5mm around the hub (am I right on this?) could I use something as simple as tape to make up the gap? Any thoughts?

Just installed the Rota's on my '08 Mini Cooper S today, took it by one of the race shops I used to work at (Group 2) in Seattle where they have the primo tire equipment
16x7 with the 56.1mm center bore, PERFECT fit, the TPMS sensors swapped over without a hitch, didn't even need to adjust the angle.
As a warning, there's NO way bigger brakes/calipers then the JCW/stock R56 MCS, there's just no extra room.
I'll try to post some pictures shortly, but they look amazing, it looks like a real Mini now

They're a good 4+lbs lighter then the bridge spokes, however, the runflats weigh a ton and the runflats (not the wheels) required tons of weight to balance them out.

I'm guessing there is still nobody with an R53 that has the 17's on it yet? Love the look and would really like to see a pic of how they look before I pull the trigger. I'll keep waiting hoping somebody posts some.

You probably could. I've used a couple of sets of the 57mm bore wheels on my car and didn't use anything, and they had no shaking issues.

Dan:
I love those Rota RBs, they have a great classic MINI look, and they are much lighter than my s-lites, that's a big plus. However, before I pull the trigger.........
1. Do you have any good pics you can share with the silver 17 X 7.5 on an R53? Also make sure to indicate what tires and size.
2. Also, please help on the gloss of the silver wheel, in your first pic it appears to be high gloss on the spokes, in the second pic the spokes appear to have a satin finish. The polished and clear coated lip looks the same and high gloss on both pics. So, what is the finish on the spokes? Yes painted, but high gloss or satin? Which pic is accurate, and why are they different?

Thanks for the help.............
