Suspension springs or coil overs

One important thing to remember about coilovers is that you MUST get the car corner balanced. If you don't, your handling is likely to be worse than stock. Imagine installing a refrigerator in your kitchen without adjusting the feet. I see alot of cars with coilovers that are "slammed". The owners have no idea that each wheel may be exerting wildly different amounts of force on the road.

If cost is not a factor and you get the corner balancing, then I would:
1. Coilovers
2. Minimum rear swaybar - Madness (2 adjustments) or RDR (3 adjustments)
3. 18"
4. Rear adjustable control arms
5. P&D camber plates and strut brace (works of art)
Then you can come over to my place and let me test it out for you.

UHHHH! I just cheezed all over the monitior.
That caster/camber/strut brace is AWESOME looking
I also see that by design it cannot strenghten the chassis torsionally, only in lateral bending, which is better than nothing
Got a question: where do I get it, and how much does it cost?

I had the P&D plates here, and will get them back when jlm sends them.
With all the snow, it's really put a damper on testing .
I also have the LEDAs, and will be installing them as well. Here's a tease pic (thanks dpayne1):
So, money no object:
Tubular swaybars from H-sport
LEDA coilovers
17" ultra lightweight wheels
Product and Design camber plates
Rear adjustable control arms

I'll be carrying the camber plates after evaluating them (as long as there aren't any unforseen issues with the plates themselves).
Pricing looks like $499 for the plates alone, and $599 with the plates and strut brace.

Thanks everyone for your input. I placed the order for my MCS last nite and hope to have it by early May. I live in the Chicago area and I don't really have any leads to people who have shops to fine tune these products if installed. Don't know if the dealer is "very " competent in these types of mods and tuning. Any leads in this area?

The type of system that would be best for you, even with the $ no object idea, depends on what type of things you are going to do with your car. What type of driving are you looking to do with your MCS? Auto-x, track events? Is this car your daliy driver? There are a few different roads that you can go down, driving a MCS down any one of them is a lot of fun!

We have not had a chance to put a MCS on a set of scales yet, could you let me know what the cross weights ,with driver, on your car are. We are starting a project in the next two weeks and some scale info would be cool before the car gets here. Thanks for your help! Any dates on the Tour yet?

Randy's pricing for the plates is accurate; but I reserve the right to re-evaluate after we finalize production. So far, the only change from the photo is that the strut brace has to be lowered about 3/8" to clear the hood inside surface and this means it interferes with the computer cover. The cover is inexpensive, so we may offer a suitably modded replacement to package with the brace.
I have a set on my car and was able to set the camber from -1 to -3 degrees very smoothly and accurately; caster I left at factory, although there is +/- 1.5 degrees available from stock.
Randy will get his set next mid-week, anodized and with the brace.

Stage 3 $3536 Gas remote reservoir/24 position bump 24 position rebound (48 total), custom valving, spring rates
All stages can use Hyperco springs which have virtually no sag, allow corner balancing within 2%, and are included in the price for Stage 2 and 3. The kits include the aluminum hats and all hardware. Stage 1 Hypercos are an additional $80.
This kit is awesome. We custom design each set based on the type of driving you do, the particular weight and distribution of your car, and the ride height you wish to get in a 2" range. Because it is custom built per order, they do take 3 weeks to get. The system can be revalved, and any spring rate can be used.
I will be doing the full install and eval next week, so the units won't be officially available until they shake out.
