After some sleep, I had a chance to re-evaluate my post. not sure I said enough about the uss....

The install was painless on the back two, the front was a little more challenging. I ended up opening up part of one of the holes with a dremel a bit. There are like 2 pieces of metal where the bolt insert goes in. I "flush" mounted the bolt insert, by simply taking off about a .25mm all around the holes until the insert fit perfect. Worked quite well.

After the install, I took the car out on the open road for about 250 miles before attempting to take it to the track to make sure there were no problems or issues.

Before I installed the uss, I was having a wierd problem where, when you gas the "hell" out of the car she was a bit "squirly"... Fixed that. The cornering ability of the car greatly improved quite a bit too. Was amazing to learn that the car sits and goes without any problems.

Over all, the "high speed" tracking and stability of the car have drastically improved about 10 folds. I'm really happy with the product.

FlynHawaiian,

Did you take any pics of the install?

Did you enlarge the holes in the M7 USS or the car?

TIA

on the car, but I was having an issue with the passenger side insert holding. I had one fall out. Talked with some engineer profs and they gave me some good advice. I think my problem was I was over torquing the insert. I didn't take any pictures because it's pretty simple. If you look at the hole and hold up the insert to it, you would understand what I did. I didn't use the washer at all on the passenger side.

See if you look under there, it almost seems like there is an extra piece of metal, like a washer or something there from the factory. I almost think that they planned on using that for something simular at one time, but never did anything with it.

Again, the install is SO simple the pictures that are provided was all I needed. If I can do it anyone can O_o. With all the locktite I put on the bolt, I really don't wanna remove it to take a picture right now :D but if you get under your car and have questions just ask me

I decided to make a couple small modifications to my aluminum skid plate prior to installation of the M7 USS. Worked perfectly and total install took less than an hour including the installation of the skid plate.

I forgot to take pics while I had it on the lift, but I think this pic came out kinda cool

Immediate results were felt. Especially when driving over rough surfaces ... it really surprised me how much of a difference the M7 USS really made during normal driving. Hopefully I'll get a chance to push the car a bit this weekend and I'll post MHO early next week. I have a feeling it's gonna be great

Oh, install tip - have a tap handy to clean out the front two (four if you're installing a skid plate at the same time) theaded holes for the front brace. It'll make your life much easier

Your modification to the skid plate makes sense. Being a skid plate owner, I'll be taking that road once my USS arrives.

Okay people I didn't think I was going to be one of the folks to say "wow" what a big difference I noticed right away . WRONG within 6ft of moving my car under power I could feel the tightness of the chassis, I knew that the very first corner I came to I just had to hit it hot & heavy and all I kept saying over and over was OMG this is so neat what a big differnce, worth every dollar, if you can only afford one change to your handling this is the one to do out of 5

It's hard to believe that it makes such a drastic change. Many people don't think it would, I've never been happier with the car and it's ability to hold the road a bit better. My car is feeling a bit more manageable day by day

well.....so much for the "the mini chassis is perfectly stiff the way it is, how could it need braces" theory

sounds like a job well done M7.

Good question since I'm running a Mini Madness 22mm bar in the second hole out back and stock up front, Koni sports, set at 80% & BFG/Gforce KDW II's, I don't know. I still think if you had limited funds & could only do one thing to improve handling I'd do the USS it just seems to tie the whole car together. I look at it like putting subframe connectors on the old fox bodied mustangs it just hooks the car up & makes it one piece.

Received the last of the first USS batch from World One Performance today (thanks, Jonathan!). I must admit, just like most of the others here, I'm already initially impressed by the aesthetics and quality of the USS.

Hopefully I'll have time this weekend to put it in. Quick question for the M7 guys (or anyone else who cares to chime in) - I would rather use blue Loctite as opposed to red, in the event I need to remove the USS and skid plate to service anything (ie. exhaust). Are there any adverse effects that you can think of, not limited to the potential for the blue Loctite to loosen up over time as opposed to the red?

There would be no problem going " blue " . You will be the second convertable install and we are looking forward to your review. We think this is going to become a " manditory " item for those topless owners that like to drive with " vigor "

Thanks for the quick response! I'm looking forward to installing the USS as well and providing feedback to the community. Beefing up the convertible's chassis and suspension was one of my first priorities, since the SS+ setup is a factory option available only for hardtops.

I'm a little disappointed, though, that most convertible owners are more interested in discussing how often they have the top down than performance mods.

The USS is more of a safety mod than a performance one - the way I see it, I won't stop driving with "vigor," so the USS is a preventative measure against accidents. Knowing myself (and most members of this board), however, it's probably more likely we'll just push the car harder.

We are all about " quick response " I just checked out your mod list and you have done a nice job there. I have the same tires and you are certainly going to give them more of a workout with the USS . I hope you have a good road nearby that you know well. I think it is going to be a very interesting experience the first time you go back. If at anytime you have a question during the install feel free to call .
