I'm not quite sure I'm the first to do it, but I suppose the first to post about it here. Looks great, rides fantastically - I'm really happy with it. I still need to have the alignment redone to correct the camber, and then I'll post some more pics.
mini oem accessory part coilover suspension with mini warranty.
What F55 said. Basically, I was unhappy with the level of handling/engagement from the stock non-Sport Suspension and this was a nice upgrade as it preserved my factory warranty and offered up a nicer (to me) blend of comfort and sport.
Very nice ride height! Looks great. What's the difference in handling that you can tell so far?
I would say the difference in handling from before is most evident in turn-in - the car almost feels like the steering ratio has been quickened, which contributes to more of the go-kart feel. I already had the NM sway bar installed as well as spacers (helped eliminate some roll) so I think the rear feels about as playful as before but I haven't really pushed it.
I don't know if others can say the same, but steering feel has been a large improvement with the coilovers, it actually startled me quite a bit to be noticing some of the road texture that simply was non-existent before.
The trade-off is that it's a little bouncier on the freeway, although I'm hoping that it will settle as I put miles on it, and it does feel more "planted" and less floaty at speed than the base suspension on the Cooper.
interesting - was this "port installed" and legal for stock class I wonder?
Unsure if it'd be considered stock, since it's an aftermarket accessory. You can't configure the car like this from the factory or before delivery, not even a JCW.
