About Rear Toe
Ok so i was doing my alignment on my car
when i was trying to do the camber adjustment, I loosened the adjustment bolt at rear and started turning the adjuster nut, no camber adjustment but the toe was moving....?????
Am i doing something wrong??? i have no adjustable lower control arms yet
But why was my toe changing and not the camber????
Any help please

I'm pretty sure most people put the aftermarket control arm in the lower position. At least that's where I put mine. It's much easier to replace the lower one and provides the same benefit (camber adjustment). The bolt that connects the lower control arm to the hub is for adjusting camber not toe. It happens to change toe slightly when you adjust camber but the factory toe adjustment is where the trailing arm bolts to the body.

From the factory the rear has toe and camber adjustment. The toe adjustment is done by loosening the 3 bolts that connect the trailing arm to the body and shifting the trailing arm either with the fancy BMW tool or light taps with a deadblow hammer. The camber is adjusted using the eccentric-ish bolt that connects the lower control arm to the hub. Because of how the camber adjustment works it will affect toe slightly so make sure that toe is the last thing you mess with in the rear. People add aftermarket control arms so that they can adjust camber beyond the range that the factory camber adjustment provides.

yeah, i go to a german car specialist here in tampa fl called vortex. they know what they are doing. alignments is one of the few things i cant do so i bring all my vehicles there, super nice people and they have the best alignment machine setup i have seen. it is sunk into the ground, so they can align a vehicle if it scrapping the ground lol. only place in tampa that can align a Lexus LFA.

i took the portable alignment device that shows you the measurements and when i was switching back and forth camber doesnt change but toe does....
i adjusted the rear toe with three bolts on trailing but when trying to camber more on the rear that happened.. i dont understand what happening... is there something wrong with my car...

thats what i thought too but camber didnt change for me when i did my alignment using the bolt on the lower control arm....
