Suspension Buying coils, want to dump it.
Buying coils, want to dump it.
As the title states I'm about to buy coilovers for my recently acquired MCS, my dilemma is that I'm looking for coilovers that give me the option to slam the car if I eventually wanna do that while offering a decent ride (don't need to hear the whole slammed car won't be a nice ride argument) I've read a Lot about the KW v1 but was wondering how those compare both in ability to go low and comfort compared to the Eibach pro street c/o and H&R RSS, I'll also be buying some STDs while I'm at it
Short version:
lowest out of these: Eibach pro street? KW v1? H&R RSS?

Not sure if price is an object for you or not, but personally, i am gonna go for the megan coilovers. they can be had for around 900 bucks all said and done, and can slam the car (which i will do) while still maintaining a good ride, and they have adjustable dampening. Or you could just go for V-Maxx, which allow you to go low.
Won't lie, haven't even looked into the megans I guess coming from a mkV VW I got turned away from Megan, I ran Konis on my mkV which I loved but they didn't go low enough in the end which is why I'm trying to avoid that problem the first time with the mini but I'll deff look into the megans, thanks!
Where you live at? lol your on the wrong site for this info.... If you want info about slamming your mini and what coilovers are the best or how they run/feel then you should check out http://www.motoringunderground.com you'll find what you need there.
I have megans on my car, I have them dropped all the way in the front with one locking ring removed, and the rears can still go more. The car actually rides great! Here are some pictures for reference.

I have Megans as well. I am actually surprised they don't go lower. My car is at the perfect height for my taste, but they're all the way down in the front and rear. I guess I could run negative preload, but I want to maintain suspension travel. All in all, a great value with the Megans.
You can get shorter springs for the front, which I actually might do. But the little factory lip that hangs down from under the front bumper is only ~1in from the ground!

I have the shorter springs, but they're not installed. Even if you run shorter springs, you will have the same ride height unless yuou run negative preload. Megan coilovers are nice because you can adjust ride height independently of preload. I'd hate to negate that benefit just so I can smash the front of my car into (even more) stuff, haha.
TylerF, I think I might grind that lip in the bottom of the sleeve out. So then our coilovers can go even lower, As long as you lock the spring tight you shouldnt have any problems I think.
Oh, there is a lip that prevents the shock body from threading into the sleeve any further? Obviously there is something, because my fronts just won't thread in any further, but I didn't bother to look at what the obstruction was. let me know if you do this!
