Any comments on the Koni Sport Suspension Kit?

I'm looking forward to lowering my car as well as improving my car after the winter time. I've heard great things about KONI FSDs but I don't think they're for me since I can't lower the MINI with them. My car is a daily driver, and maybe occasional Auto-X when I have time. I want improve handling abilities as well as dropping the car a bit for a lower center of gravity. I'm also looking for a kit that's the same as OEM if not better in terms of ride comfort. I don't need it to be soft, because I think the OEM struts/springs feel fine to me.

I was looking at KONI yellows and found this kit:

Any comments about the kit? Anybody use this kit? If not, does anyone have any recommendations? I want to keep it under $900 for a good set up.

Koni sport kit

I've been running this setup for the past 3yrs. Lowered by 1-1.5in (more in the back than the front because of the IE fixed plates in the front). Ride is firmer and stiffer than stock and ok for daily driving. The fun occurs when you hit the twisties.

Helix camber plate compatability?

EJ, Are you running adjustable camber plates up front? I have a set of Helix and was trying to figure out if the Koni struts would actually work with them?

Cheers,

+1 on the KONI yellows, i installed mine 8 months ago and they are pretty darn good for a daily driver, i did upgrade wheels and tires, went a little to wide and i have rubbing issues but rarely rub, so i'm good.
PLUS you have -Lifetime Warranty

What settings do people typically put them on for a balance of spirited street driving and comfort for new England potholes?

I think I'm going to pull the trigger on this in the next month. Seems like a goo balance of cost for performance, looks and lifetime warranty!

I have had a set on for 8 months now.
Won't buy anything else.
Great ride.
Responsive.
Best on market IMO.

I run 1 click from the hard setting.
Going to change it to 2 clicks from soft.
They are a pain in the butt to install, fronts.
Have to drill mounting holes, etc but oh the ride is so nice.
The Helix camber plates will fit the Koni's.
No problem there.
Note! When installing camber plates, pack the bearings with anti sieze.
That's what Helix recommends.

My Koni sport kit is mated with the Ireland fixed camber plates in the front at 2 clicks from the stiff setting. Rears were set at the middle setting and left that way because of the difficulty to make changes without dropping the rear suspension. I mainly make adjustments to the fronts depending on conditions.
You'll have to experiment with your settings depending on your driving habits.

Camber plates are for adjusting tire wear right?
