Suspension Installed H&R Coilovers
I am considering getting the RSS club sport Coil overs from H&R. I am worried the street performance will be too slow and soft. I find the sports suspension a bit of a disappointment.
Were your Street Performance set a direct replacement? If you set the spring pearch to the upper limit is it higher then stock?
ALTA deal with those coilovers?
Do you think you could raise your car back up to stock hight with the spring pearch at max? the website gives a max and min..but my old ground controls setup for the E30 and my CIVC both could lift the cars like SUV's or slam them to the bumpstops.

The RSS is firmer and even more controlled than the improvement with the Street Performance Coilovers.
Maintaining oem ride height is going to be difficult with either choice. Let me know if I can help further!
Just got my H&R Coilovers installed yesterday. Figured I throw up a couple of pics that I took this morning.
I told the guys that did the install that I wanted it dropped about "2 fingers". Ended up being a little more then an inch.
Haven't got an alignment yet or put much miles on them, but so far so good. Definitely firmer, but not harsh or jarring over seams and expansion joints. There does seem to be a bit of a bounce or pulse, but I would assume and expect that to go away once they get used a bit.
There are more pics in my gallery including my theft deterent

installed RSS Coilovers
I installed my H&R RSS ClubSport coilovers on Saturday. They dropped the car more than I expected, but looks really good. I took it out for a spirited drive on the back roads and was amazed at the agility and responsiveness. The faster I went the more impressed I was with the cornering ability. Driving around locally the car felt solid but without the harshness I would have expected out of a sport/track type suspension setup. I currently have the front struts adjusted to the top threads and still only have a tad over a finger width clearance between fender and tire..but no rubbing issues. I do have to be cautious with the underbody clearance though as I have the Alta cat-back exhaust and the clearance of the resonator in the midpipe is only about 3.5 inches...watch those speedbumps. The darn exhaust sits quite a bit lower than the stock exhaust...hope that doesn't create issues.
Adam, thanks for the install tips...went smooth..about 4hrs to install and the 2nd of each front/rear went much faster once I'd figured everything out. Any tips/advice regarding ground clearance with the Alta exhaust. I love the exhaust but am worried I'm going to rip the thing off on a speedbump or something. I have an 06 Cooper S with Alta 22MM rear bar, OZ 16 inchers with 205/50/16 Yoko E100s

can anyone CONFIRM that the RSS go lower than the Street's? ..side by side comparison would be awesome OR just pictures/testimonials.. tire rack says 1.5" for street as max and 2.0" max for RSS...is this accurate for the front?!
You could always cut the coils in front to get them to sit lower. Start with 1/4 coil. That is what it took to get my car to sit level with my TSW's. Use an abrasive wheel.

Anyone here using the rss coilover with vorschlag camber plates?
Did you have to measure the thread diameter, and the diameter of the other cylindrical parts before ordering them?
I ordered h-sport in January but they no longer make them for the r53 so I am going with vorschlag. My current kmac plates are failing. One of the bolt head is digging into the plate.

definitely NOT 2 fingers. i can barely fit one now that they've settled and my tires are pretty meaty....BUT the more time thats gone by, the slight wheel gap in the front has started to bother me more. so i think, come september, im taking the leap and going air ride
the rear sits perfectly tho with the H&R street performance coils..

This phone app is not very user friendly . Was replying to the thread of how a spacer would look like with a 10 mm + spacers with the r105. I installed 20mm on mine and it looks rad as it totally flushed my r105 with the fender

It is advisable to start with the RSB on full soft (holes furthest away from the bar). Get used to the suspension with the changes that you have, then you can stiffen the bar to see how you like it.

I installed a brand new set of H&R street today. I'm very please with the comfort but I get a squeak coming from the driver's rear. I torqued everything to spec and can't figure out what went wrong ... I guess I'll drive it for the week and dismantle the shock assy next weekend if the noise persists.
hi. i just purchased (and waiting for) R56 MINI Sport Suspension Pack from alta. anyone have any experience or input about these parts. Which would be the recommended settin g for the rear sway bar? What is to lookout for to make sure my installer does not mess up or miss things? thanks. I will post pictures once the work is done - that is if I receive my parts before the weekend :-). Also have a an 18" jcw R105 which I am hoping to use a 5mm spacer. I want to go wider but not sure how a 10 -12 mm will look. Thanks for help and input in advance guys/gals.
