I am looking into a group buy for Bilstein PSS coilovers for the MCS. I don't believe they are available in the states yet. I have them on my 2002 Porsche Twin Turbo and they are hands down the best system out there. I am obtaining more information at the present time but wanted to know if there were any interested parties out there. If so, please post.
Although the following picture IS NOT for the MCS, they will look something like these:

You must have just gotten the PSS9s for your 996Turbo. As far as I knew, they just hit the shores for the 996 and the Turbos were still a couple of weeks out. Where did you get them from? I didn't know the Mini PSS9s were here either. Where did you see them and for how much $$ on both cars? I'm curious, because we sell and install many PSS9 kits on 993s, but couldn't get them for the 996 Turbo or the Cooper S. Thanks for the info.

Is Bilstein shipping an adjustable replacement shock yet for the S? The coilovers may not fit the budget.

I'm highly interested, the PSS9's are already avalible in the U.K. from SKN. The last time I tried ordering them was last month and they ran out of stock. 1350,00 Euro I had a picture on Mini2, will post a pic once I find it again.

    CalCooper,
That is great info. Please post any other additional info you have including pics. I looked at SKN's site and it is difficult to decipher the German. SKN appears to be German, not English.

OK, this just in!! Through my contact, we can obtain them for $1,690 Euros with shipping included. This price will go down with the more people we get involved. They will ship to each participants address. Based upon my previous experience with the importation of goods into the US, the shipping company (Fedex, DHL, etc.) will eventually bill the recipient for customs charges that cost roughly 6-7% of the cost of the item. You can go to http://www.xe.com/ucc/ to obtain the price in US dollars based upon the current exchange rate.
My preference is to enlist the buying power of more than just a couple definite buyers so we can get that price down. I expect we will wait between 3 to 4 weeks to collect more interested parties. I am also notifying members/users on Mini2 so please do not reply to both boards.
In order to keep more accurate track of serious buyers, please respond with the word "DEFINITE" in caps in your response.

    Here is the latest update:
They are in fact PSS-9's. This means besides the ride height adjustability (lowering it up to a maximum of 40mm=1.575in), the dampers have 9 different damping adjustments. These are the same as those in use on my Porsche. The part number is GM5-A068.
I hope that help some of you with the decision process. I will post more information as it trickles in.

I think I may wait until they start distributing in the US, as that price seems pretty high ($1900 or so) for the PSS9. The Bilstein rep was telling me they wanted to be competetive with the other brands on the market.

The LEDA custom built for each car with Hypercoil springs, 24 position rebound and compression adjustment units are $1850.

The KW V2 with 24 position rebound adjustment are $1580.

The Spax with 28 position rebound adjustment are $1100.

As soon as they are available through US distribution, we'll test them, but I can't swing that cost (especially considering I already have two full coilover sets and two sets of lowering springs for the eval car).

It's hard to argue with Randy's approach... about waiting...

I however would like something in the next month or two.

I'm looking for the best combo of:

    Performance
    Ajustability range & ease
    Weight-savings

The research continues... Randy, which ones shaved like 8 lbs over stock?
