You don't want me handling the money. It's a good thing the wifes an accountant. I would have even more toys then I already have.

What are your plans for the club?

Well, the club just started a few hours ago, so no big plans yet. I figure we get together every month or so and drive from Seal Beach to San Clemente, hang out, eat, take pictures. Sound good?
Orange County is usually lumped into the "LA area" catagory, and I think it's time we get some true Motoring representation.

I have seen a group is South county. I don't know who they are but I will look around. It might be a dealer group like Irvine BMW.

I don't belong to any club but you caught my interest with your post. I think it could be fun. I guess I'm in as long as we can get some more to join.

Uh, oh - they're letting a Brit in the club - there goes the neighborhood! Look out for that Steve Hanlan guy, ma78, - he's a trouble maker.

I'm working on a club charter-like thing. Anyone want to add a silly rule?

How is it a "super secret" club if you mention it on a public forum? <img>

I think your first club rule should be like fight club.. "The first rule of the Super Secret Orange County Mini Cooper Club is that you do not talk about the Super Secret Orange County Mini Cooper Club."

Try saying that quickly 10x.

Actually, that's the second rule. The first rule is; plug the club shamelessly.

Still looking for a graphic designer to make us a club badge.

how 'bout:

1. you must own or have access a mini you can drive
2. you must know how to get to orange county

those are for starters.... don't want to get carried away (just yet, at least).

Good point. Didn't thought about having rules. Can you post the rules of the other NAM Clubs? so I can have an idea?

Thanks

P.S. did you have to register the club?

I was also thinking...

1. Must like citrus
2. Must be current Disneyland/Knotts Berry Farm Annual Pass Holder.
3. Republican, or descended from Republicans.
4. All members must here-by agree that the Fox tv show "The O.C." is nothing like the real Orange County.
5. Members agree to bow down and worship beneath my benevolent gaze!
6. All first born children of members must change their names to "The MINI Cooper Is The Absolutely Coolest Car Ever Made."

I think that these are all fairly reasonable.

hmmm...could you please clarify some things for me.

I see you referred it as "Mini Cooper", so does that mean classic Minis only? I guess that excludes me since I have a MINI Cooper. Darn.

It's super secret.. the SS of SSOCMCC
...why shamelessly plug it as rule #1, wouldn't that be against the mission/foundation of the club? ;-) You don't want to be outted before you even start, do you?

If you're looking for some public OC MINI clubs, check out SCMM, C3, MU, MININUTS, and West Coast MINIs. Some are more laid back and have no rules - like MININUTs, they're really fun...almost no rules. Unfortunately for you guys, these clubs are also more inclusive... allowing LA, Riverside, San Bernadino, Ventura, Kern, San Diego county riffraff MINI owners to join their ranks.

This is all in tongue and cheek. Motor on fellow OC'ers!

Same here. Born at Martin Luther Hospital in Anaheim, (way back in '62 as Hoag didn't have a full-time maternity ward), and my Pop was too.
