Group buy

I'm in for a group buy. How many do we have now?
Look at my list of mods--nearly half are for bling. A red coil would look really great hooked up to those Nologies (which *really* did wonders for my car...yeh, right.)

cheers,

paint it

Hi SS, Sorry i got to the post so late. But if its just the color for the "BLING"factor just paint it like i did. Its easy. What gave me the idea was most likely the same shot in the gallery that you saw. But i didn't see a need to change the coil. So thats what i did. I didn,t read thru all the posts maybe someone told you this but just paint it.I used a normal paint and just picked a nice bright red. No need for heat paint. It was Rustoleum american accents paint. Apple red gloss. Juat added the Jackson racing wires and Presto.More "BLING" After all thats what under my bonnet is all about.

p.s. The coil is easy to remove. check out my gallery for the "BLING"

If you're asking me again, I have MSD and it's still under my hood...does that settle your question?

Would this work on our application?
Yes.

Would there be any measurable or discernible benefit?

Highly unlikely, since they have been unable to actually demonstrate any benefit in several years of selling it to people who apparently believe in magic...

Well, i'm still wating to become a Summit vendor, so until I hear word that we have an account, the group buy is still up in the air.

I'll be sure to let everyone know if I can get any better prices on them.

If MSD is good enough for Big Daddy, its good enough for me.

How many race cars do you see that run Screamin Demon ignition products?

Not many, if any.

Not sure I would trust them. They don't even have it listed on the website. Not sure what they mean by "flat" terminals, but the MINI has round plug ends on the wires.

I'm not convinced the MSD coil that fits our engine is better over others on the market. The only benefit I see is bling in the way it's red. I am installing the Pilo Coil which does 40,000 volts over MSDs and stock 36,000 volts.

I'm pretty sure that they are talking about the interface terminals, not the plug wire terminals. The MINI uses flat terminals, and the coil is he same as the newer Neon.

and not

5 pages and dont have a 100% answer on which is better, or any kind of test to back everybodies coil up. The bling factor has to count for something with the MSD being red and all. I havent went with a coil yet, but Im still watching this post to see what happends. MSD has been around for AWHILE and Im sure they dont put out junk. All the Hot rod guys sware by it, so that must mean something. With what the other guys are saying about there coils, for example.....MSD states something like 36,000 volts, is that continuos or peak volts? same for the others. I personally like the red MSD one.... , but that dont mean nothing when it comes to performance.....
