OK replaced the pressure sensor and it ran fine for about two weeks ago it ran fine til to day no-wow the same thing stopped on her twice coming home. let it set a few min. and it starts again. Same codes for the fuel pressure, 2BE9 Cylinder injection cut out pressure to low, 2C01 High pressure fuel pressure to low, 2bf5 rail pressure sensor pressure to low before engine start. As we are back to where we started I am back to thinking it's the HPFP again i thought may be the sensor fixed it but no joy.

My Clubman is the same model and year and this honestly scares me. Sometimes I see my primed hpfp do 600s to 700s on startup...wondering if i should bring it in for the service bulletin about the hpfp.

More info I was doing a live scan and got these numbers it still ran with these numbers.
Rail press. set value Rail press.
9.95 0.56
9.92 0.57
9.90 0.57
9.93 0.57
9.93 0.56
It goes on like this for 52 frames With the engine revved up.
Could this be a computer issue.

Hello, Just saw this, figure the senor would have fixed it, not much more to that system. can you move the wires around up there while its running and see if you can see the figures drop. Other then that it could be ECU related. Are you still getting codes?

You can not get at the wires with the engine running as they are under the intake manifold. All the same codes I have gotten all along. a shop near by says they can run a diagnostic and check the ecu. they are going to do it Monday. I was hoping that one of your guys had seen some thing like those numbers above. The rail pressure set value and the rail pressure should be close to the same Not 9.95 set value and a rail pressure of 0.56 the engine should not even be running at that value.

Same codes for the fuel pressure, 2BE9 Cylinder injection cut out pressure to low, 2C01 High pressure fuel pressure to low, 2bf5 rail pressure sensor pressure to low before engine start

Any ideas gang.
Did you CHANGE the fuel filter? If you did not, then you will turn around and destroy the new HPFP in short order...
What is destroying the pumps is the Fuel filter gets overloaded and starts dumping garbage to the HPFP and the grit and grime destroys them.

Ok the wife has driven it for week no problems. Yesterday I changed the low pressure fuel ump and fuel filter. We now have a completely new fuel system in the car HPFP, LPFP, fuel filter and fuel rail sensor. now it is wait and see. By the way the fuel filter was a bigger pain than the fuel pump that thing does not want to come apart.

Yeah, I had a heck of a problem with mine too. Then I went to the store and got a $7.00 extra long, larger screwdriver. That was the key. I had broken off some of the plastic fins with the small screwdriver. With the big screwdriver it just came right apart with the extra leverage. Hopefully you were using a 10-12" screwdriver at minimum as a crow bar.

After what I saw, I plan on doing mine every 25-30K miles.

After just under 2 months and probably 3000 miles including a trip to Houston and back 240 miles. Well tonight on the way home it quit on her again same codes Fuel rail pressure and low fuel rail pressure before start. The before start would have locked when she tried to restart it. I was not far behind her so after about 5 min. I reset the codes and put the code reader on it it showed 72.5 low fuel pressure but when I started it it showed about 6.50 at the fuel rail an ran a little ruff for a second or 2 then the pressure jump up to over 7.0 and smoothed out. She drove the rest of the way home with no trouble, only about one mile. I thought we had it fixed!

Ok I’m going to assume your reader is giving you a decimal, and for the this post I will assume that 6.5 = 650 psi and so on.
It seems to be low at first there, like what happens when the pump starts to go out. You should be sitting at about 750psi at idle. Which in this case would be 7.5

Yes it reads in decimal I just went out and put the reader on it with out the key with me. low was holding at 72.5 psi went and got the key and started it while reading the fuel rail pressure when it started it went to 6.8 dropped a little and came up to 7. I am thinking HPFP but this pump was new from ECS in Aug. One question I have should the pressure jump strait to 7.5 on start or should it take a second or 2 to build.

Jerry661 tell us exactly which fuel pump you currently have on the vehicle?

I have nearly the same year model with 68k when the factory fuel pump (HPFP) I bought from RSTFA Auto off Amazon when it went out. It appears it's failing after 4k miles. I'm convinced the aftermarket brands aren't worth the price or trouble if you have anything other than the factory equipment part. I'm ordering my second HPFP pump but this time from ECS and it's gonna be the OEM part. A class action lawsuit show also apply to ALL Mini engines that are experiencing premature HPFP failure!!! Extremely shameful owners have shell out $1k+ for a common known problem Mini knows about. I would never recommend anyone owning a Mini when it comes to reliable powertrains !!!

Ok it quit on me a couple times tonight after the first I put my reader on it and monitored the pressure. It quit when I slowed and stop for a light. The pressure would drop to 6 and below as I came to stop. One strange thing that happened on the way home with the wife watching the pressure I put my foot in it the pressure dropped from 11.25 when we were just running along to 9.15 this does not seem correct I would have thought it should increase. I guess I need to by another $1000.00 pump as ECS tuning won't back the warranty because I don't have the original packaging.
hamptup it is an Genuine Mini part I purchased from ECS tuning.

Ok first I have to thank Mike and ECS tuning for stepping up and covering the pump. They even sent me the new one next day delivery. Thank You. I put it in last Friday and have driven to Houston and back (just under 500 miles round trip) with no issues and it appears the gas mileage even increased. One thing I noticed when I removed the old pump is the electrical connector on the pump wiggled a lot and rather freely. Again Thank you to Mike and Ashley at ECS tuning for there help.

What brand pump did you replace with?
Just curious as I'm having problems even after replacing mine.
