Oops..broke hose connected to coolant. Part number?
Hi guys, was going to change the filter and when pulling out the coolant overflow tank, I broke some hose connector thing and coolant went everywhere. But I was wondering if you guys know what parts I need to buy to fix/replace based on the attached images. Not sure if this is something I can do or if it had to go to the dealer. Part is broken from circled in red.
P.s. Any idea what that thing circled in blue is? Seems like something should be connected there but I found it like that

thank you! I was looking at that but earlier as well but had some difficulty telling which part was the one I broke. I’m thinking it’s the piece in the link below as it has the triple joint piece. Wondering how hard it would be to swap

Hey Zachary, I did the same exact thing on my 2011 r56 s and I'm depressed about it. Is that piece the only one available or can you buy the triple connector separately from ECS? This is the part # and pic for it that I found on oemparts, http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/part...&q=11537560376. Hoping this gets shown in the thread soon as this is my daily and I hate the thought of waiting a week to drive my lovely mini again. Thanks for the help!
So you’re definitely right about the part. Unfortunately it just comes as one big thing. I’ll link the part below that’s the correct one I ordered. There’s the diy route too for replacing just the connectors and not the hoses, I’ll attach an image of someone doing that but I have no handy man skills to pull that off.
Ill be attempted to replace the part with what I linked below and will let you know how it goes from the perspective of a car noob that isn’t handy with the help of my dad who is a car noob but is handy. Hope that helped at least a tiny bit!

Thats a pretty good job on the making your own T section out of brass.
Dorman have a bunch of generic T & Y connectors so you just need to measure the inside diameters of the hoses.
Any decent parts store will have these in stock.
I doubt if you can spend $10!
This is what you need. Can pick up at most hardware stores. This is a T fitting with the correct sizes so you have fewer joints. No pipe thread nipples to possibly leak.
T under coolant reservoir local replacement is PEX 1"*1"*3/4" in brass perfect fit
Very nice hack but I enjoy setting my money on fire so I had it towed to MINI of Glencoe which was not too far away. They almost finished it same day, not too shabby for not having an appointment

Thanks for posting this brass tee fix! I broke the same part removing the coolant reservoir for a muffler delete. although a huge pain, it worked great.
Well here I was changing the oil and working to pull the oil filter housing out, and *snap* and the T is gone. So I appreciate the brass PEX part number, going to pick that up. However, a few questions as its starting to get dark.
How do you remove the broken ends inside the hose? I tried quickly with a 90 degree pick, but nothing happened
Can you remove the plastic "over" ring on the hose which is probably keeping the inner bits in? Should I just try and cut this?
I am taking a break so looking forward to some guidance on getting it prepped for the brass T. Thank you!

I went to change the oil last night - and coolant came gushing out.... so I searched and found this thread - so I figured I would post.....
I used pliers to squish the open hose ends, breaking the plastic insert into pieces - that then fell out.
The plastic ring easily separated from the hose - if it was glued at one point, that glue had long failed....
I bought a brass PEX fitting 1” x 1” x 3/4” and hose clamps - and it all went back together....

Thank you for adding the link - finding this post was easier than finding the right parts, so hopefully this helps others. A quick trip to HD fixed it, but knowing there is a better part out there for a good price is great news.
