Stock Problems/Issues Discussions related to warranty related issues and repairs, or other problems with the OEM parts and software for MINI Clubman (R55), Cooper and Cooper S(R56), and Cabrio (R57).

Where can I get the plastic fitting that goes into bottom of coolant reservoir?

Nice work. I would want to have more hose than just re-routing the OEM....So to be able to lift the tank out and further be out of the way for oil changes ect without having to undo it again. Any idea what hose ID to try? Might be one of those things where you take the hose into the store and just go through all their various heater hoses looking for that magic fit.

That was my intention but when I got home and 3/4 ID didn't fit, so I tried the existing hose. My immediate concern was my system not holding pressure and losing coolant.

I posted measurements for you bro.

I forgot to take a pic of the other side of the plastic elbow. Here it is.

It says Contitech RSS NW 12-90.

This might work. $10 on Ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Norma-R...-/262788047690

EDIT: I ordered this part from Ebay. It is too small. Same stamping but much too small. Ebay seller doesnt have any larger sizes.

It's not exactly the same but looks close. The shoulder at the end of the ribbed section is missing but its 5/8ths like OEM.

I am going to check with some of the OEM suppliers, sometimes they can get them and sometimes it's under contract.

That would be great if you could sell just that piece. So far mine is holding up after a few days of driving with just a band clamp over the hose with no elbow at all.

Replace The O Ring

Remove the O Ring inside the fitting just be careful not to damage it. Then replace with a new one... This is the closest size I could find from ACE hardware it's for a faucet it's a snug fit and takes a little work to put it in the fitting but it works perfect for $0.99 you can't beat it.. Hope this helps...
