What is this on the coolant hose?

So my 2004 mini started overheating and I noticed it was leaking coolant from this area. Can anybody advise as to what it is so I can fix it? It is under the power steering reservoir. Looks like something may have broken off? The first picture you can see the coolant bubbling out. So I'm guessing this is causing the overheating issues?

Can see coolant bubbling when engine gets to temp and starts pumping coolant

What it looks like without bubbling.

Oh my. That looks like this coolant tee with the small section broken off. I hope that is not it.

I had a very bad experience from a broken coolant tee in the R53 cooling system. Is there any coolant in your expansion tank? Have you been driving it?

Found it was a coolant bleeder screw. Apparently whomever worked in this before me screwed it down within an inch of its life and it blew out. Now I can't get the dang broken piece out. Letting my drill charge then going to go to town on it.
