We did the crank, installed the upper guide, pretensioner to 3.5 in lbs, intake vanos and then exhaust.

It’s almost back together. Just need to install plugs and fender flares.

What is the best way to bleed the cooling system?

Thanks. I saw the first on after I posted.
I changed the water pump, pipe and thermostat gasket when I did the head.

I got my MCS started up today. Pulled the fuel injection fuse to make sure I had oil pressure. Cleared all the codes and when it finally started I had two misfires. Swapped coils around and it sort of followed but didn't. Eventually figured out we had one bad coil and something else going on.
My buddy was over there and he had a spare set of coils at his house so we popped them in and it started right up just fine. The valvetrain was pretty noisy at first but when the oil temp came up it quieted down. My son (the mechanic) said the adjusters needed to get oiled up.
Took it for ride and everything was OK, except that it puked coolant because we forgot to tighten the coolant cap.

I have three left over parts. Anyone know where they go?

Nut and bolt goes on the engine brace, left side. Used as a core support. Usually removed to do service on the belt side of the engine. Two of them on our 2009 MCS.
The tab on the nut allows you to hold it as you thread the bolt from the top.
I recall the general area is to the left of oil dipstick.and the higher up kind of directly above the water pump.

I had a look but couldn’t find where it went. Any pics?

Start at the left shock tower. Follow the brace down, there should be a bolt on the top, nut on the bottom. About 15 -20 inches down is another.

Here is a good image i clipped.

Thanks. I found where that bolt went. I put a plastic fastener in there. Lol.

Any idea on the hose clamps?

Do they hold the a/c lines that come up to the top of the engine?

I cannot see where they hold the AC line. They seem to be the size of the heater hoses but I don’t see where they would attach to.
