Software upgraded to 39.2 issues on MCS
Sopftware upgrade
MCS built September 2003.
First software upgrade, March 10, 2005. Version ???
Result. DSC is now very polite and actually an asset on a snowy road. It allows some slip and driver correction before it gently reduces power.
Throttle response is more pronounced at the beggining of the pedal travel.
It has only been through 1 cycle,
There is a barely perceptible yo yo under some deceleration conditions, but less than before. This car never did have a real yo yo.
So far no complaints.

xpcdoojk,
I'm not aware of the release of a higher version of software than 39.2. Also, it's not like you can ask for a specific version of software to be installed. Whatever's been installed into their "computer" that does the uploads is what you're going to get. They can have only the "latest" version installed onto their "computer". From what the dealership told me, there's no way for them to go back to a previous version.

I just wish I had heard about the "ill" effects prior...
I had/have similar issues after the emission recall last week, choppy idle everyday. Did the ECU reset, and four days no choppy idle. We'll see. I've attached an article that talks about "MIL" (check engine) repair work, and specifically discusses the importance of proper "drive cycle" after a repair (software update). Our Bentley shop manual even has details on the proper drive cycle for the MINI. I'm curious if dealers or repair shops know the proper drive cycle for each different car, and are performing those to make sure repairs have been completed correctly for all OBD II vehicles.
