2008 R56 PCV valve replacement

So after over $600 in the shop, my daughters Mini is running. Mostly. I'm told it needs a PCV valve and of course it is made into the valve cover. I remember reading about changing the diaphragm only which I'm willing to try, but can't find a listing anywhere for sale. If that fails, where can I get a valve cover that won't cost $500?

Ebay. Search for "mini cooper valve cover" and you'll find 10+ sellers at around $76 with shipping. It's the real deal. I got and installed one a couple of weeks ago. The only difference from my old cover is the manufacturer's logo was removed. I suspect they overbuilt way too many and now they are blowing them out.

Thanks, but that's a different valve cover than what I have. I found one for $189 on eBay.

You could block off the pcv hose with a BSH dual port tap
in conjunction with installing their oil catch can.
Then you wouldn’t need a functioning pcv valve and would
have less deposits on the intake valves over time.

I didn't think of that. Valve cover has already been ordered. If there's any issue, I'll go with a catch can.

Would those of you who purchased valve cover + gasket sets on eBay mind posting what seller you purchased from and how yours has been working out? I'm seeing a wide variety of prices and sellers, and I have a 2008 R56 S I need to make happy again. Hoping to save $$ (don't have a lot of that these days) and don't want to get ripped off! Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.
