Clutch and gas pedal feel connected
I was driving into work this morning and noticed that as I let the clutch out while changing gears I could feel movement in the gas pedal.
On the way home I will drive barefoot to confirm this.
Anyone else noticed this?

I dont see how it's possible, since the gas pedal is totally self contained and pressing it only actuates an electronic encoder. It's not like the old days of linkages and cable connecting the pedals to the engine.
Only thing I can think of is the floor flexing, but given that the clutch and gas pedals are hung from a cast support that also has the steering column, and the gas pedal is mounted to the floor, it seems very unlikely.
Most likely is the activating device is moving about in it's mounting. In other words, you are shifting in the seat.

lot15, I was up shifting at the time
greatbear, yeah I know I checked it out after work and operated pedals by hand then drove home bare foot and everything was normal.
But I swear this morning it felt like the old days with everything hanging (pedals) from a shaft with loose bushings and the clutch pedal transmitting movement to the gas pedal.
What can I say ?, oh yes, Thank's for your support... norm

Maybe it is one of those weird things that only happens around the summer solstice, or perhaps you have a poltergeist inhabiting your gas pedal?

Hmm, can I use that if I get pulled over for going to fast?

Many, many years ago, I lived in El Salvador and we had gotten a new "Office" car, a Toyota wagon. In those days, most japanes cars were made RHD and converted to LHD to be sold in the west. Well as a 13 year old curious kind of a guy I discovered that under the dash in the passenger side, you could actually operate the throttle with the tip of your shoe......drove my dad and the drivers crazy for like a year......what I din't know is that a fortune was spent at the dealership trying to diagnose this problem.....they never connected the dots that the imp sitting in the passenger side was the common thread..........
pocketrocketowner, despite the fact that you are obviously colorblind or have terrible taste when it comes to choosing the color for your MINI, we love you for your impish personality.
Keep up the good work, and get rid of that ugly MINI of your's!

!) I actually warn passengers prior to take off to keep their bloody feet away from the throttle bar that passes by at the end of the foot-well. Yea, there is much to be learned from RHD/LHD conversions, not.
