Help! - Replace PCV Hose
Help! - Replace PCV Hose
So I am wondering if anybody knows whether or not you need to pull the intake manifold out of the car in order to replace the PCV hose that connects from the left side of the valve cover (when standing in front of the car) to the bottom of the intake manifold.
I have not take off the air intake box yet, I am just wondering if anybody knows whether you can get to the bottom side of the intake manifold while it is still on the car? If so, will I need to remove anything besides the airbox?
Thanks!

No need to remove the air box but it's a tight squeeze if you leave it on. Study the diagram on realoem to get a good idea of where the connector is and where you have to put your hand.
Here is the parts and the diagram in this link, removing the airbox makes it a little easier for that left side.

How do you get to the intake manifold side of the pcv hose? I've spent 2 hours searching for the connector which appears to route under the manifold.
Cannot see it, nor feel it. The hose appears to go from the pcv valve inside/within the intake manifold
but never comes out.
I've a '09 base mini.
How long is the pcv hose and how to get to/see the far end coupler?
A real photo would help instead of a schematic diagram.

Thanks, but those photos are of a turbo S version of intake manifold.
My non-turbo Cooper intake manifold does not have ports on that side of the intake manifold
Have you photos of both ends of the pcv hose for a non-turbo gen II motor (mine is '09).

Get some with a small hand or take off the intake pipe and then try to reach under with your left hand maybe, its a hard location. Might need to get a long pair of pliers that are bent to reach under and pinch the tabs.

It is not possible to replace the hose on a normally aspirated gen II mini ('09 specifically).
The intake manifold must be removed, the pcv hose disconnected from under the manifold, and then replaced, followed be reinsertion of the intake manifold.
One cannot compress the fitting and pull it /pry it up, nor press it back on with sufficient force to put the connector back on the intake manifold, with the manifold on the car.
This thread shows it can be done with a cooper S, since the pcv hose exits the manifold and connects on the driver side, external to the manifold.

thanks for the update, based off what i could see it looks like you could, i messed with them enough on the S.
